This very special family owned holiday home is right at the start of the Whale Route. ‘Clarence Drive’, as it is known, is voted one of the most scenic drives in the world. It travels all along the cliff edge with majestic mountains on the left and the azure blue sea on the right. Located on the mountainside in the affluent neighbourhood of Protea Drive, Gordons Bay, this ideal holiday home offers magnificent 180° undisturbed views over the entire False Bay from Cape Point to the mountains and vineyards of Somerset West and Stellenbosch with the world-famous icon of Table Mountain in the center of it all. You often see dolphins, seals, and even whales from your private deck. This comfortable, fully equipped, and cleverly-designed home is perfect for enjoying the beach life. Ideal for long stay guests or quick weekend getaways. 75 on Protea is a well-appointed self-catering home that offers three bedrooms, two bathrooms (1 bath and 1 shower), a spacious kitchen, a comfortable lounge, and an elevated dining area with sea views. All 3 bedrooms have views and sliding doors directly onto the all-important and fabulous balcony area. Great for outdoor enjoyment and traditional barbecues. Enjoy miraculous sunsets over the bay and Table Mountain, and stroll along the nearby historic Monica Miles footpath to the well-known Bikini Beach and picturesque Old Harbor of Gordon’s Bay below. The house was lovely. A bit far from the city, about an hours drive but the views and proximity to the ocean make up for it. Lovely beach view, rooms right by the balcony, quiet nieghbourhood. Only issue was that the house has rats, which we weren't told about. Should definitely bring the price down for that.
We had a lovely stay, everything looked like on the pictures or even better. Amazing views from the balcony. The location is perfect, the house is situated in a quiet residential area overlooking false bay. If you are lucky you will get to see some whales from the terrace. Everything is close by (beaches, restaurants etc.) and only a few minutes drive away.
Home was exactly as pictured - stunning view and very cute and accessible neighborhood. Juanita was responsive and very helpful throughout our stay.

Gordons Bay is a picturesque seaside village. Accommodations are all close to beach, shops and restaurants. Views are most likely and can be enjoyed from most areas. The village is clean and tidy and the people are warm and welcoming.
In Gordon’s Bay we have high season and low season. High season sees temperatures of up to 35 degrees with high humidity making it nice to spend a lot of time on the beach. This is also the dry season in the Western Cape with minimal rainfall. Low season is the colder months of the year. The temperature never drops lower than 15 degrees though. The countryside is MUCH more picturesque during this time making site seeing the better option during the winter months.
A car is necessary in South Africa. Although we have private taxi services, Public transport is not the best. For shopping and sightseeing, we highly recommend a car.
