Mary is a wonderful host (warm, inviting, communicative), and her place was perfect for us: clean, super comfy, room to spread out, everything needed to prepare our own meals (tho we ate out often), and central to the places we wanted most to visit including Acadia National Park (both on Mount Desert Island and, east of MDI, Schoodic Point), and the Blue Hill peninsula (all of Deer Isle including Stonington). We stayed 3 nights, but would gladly have stayed longer with so much to see and do. Next time, will definitely return to Mary's lovely home.

Staying in Mary's house was wonderful and memorable. Her house is beautiful with all the things you need and you can stay on your side and keep your privacy or you can open and walk through the side door to the kitchen and living room, I like her sunroom a lot , I worked there in daytime while Mary went out to work, sitting on her patio under the sunshine is very enjoyable. I am a remote worker, internet there is good to get my job done. Her location is 20 -minute drive to Acadia, Bar Harbor and Winter Harbor, 5- minutes to Wal-marts, gas station and restaurants etc.. Mary is kind and very knowledgeable about Maine, listening to her stories and the local history is a great highlight on this trip, she even gave me a ride to Portland while she visited her son and she introduced all the attractions along the way; she even showed me how to cook/eat lobster. Staying in Mary's house made me feel like home and enjoy the beautiful surrounding like a local people. I learned a lot as well!

Mary's place represents everything that's great about Airbnb. She has an area set aside with two bedrooms and a bathroom. A private entrance, sitting area, full size fridge, coffee maker and microwave top off the private area. Mary met us on our arrival and helped us get settled. She's far enough off the beaten path that it made commuting back and forth off Mount Desert easier than other places we have stayed in Ellsworth. We enjoyed our stay and would stay there again in the future.
