Designed by award-winning architects, Venn Farm is gloriously secluded yet just a short hop from Bude and some of Cornwall’s best surf beaches. The light filled 16th Century Farmhouse has been lovingly converted and a simple & modern timber frame extension takes advantage of the beautiful Cornish sunsets & the views down towards the Tamar river. Foodies can enjoy the Gozney pizza oven on the western terrace. The light filled Farmhouse has been lovingly converted over the last 15 years. The addition of a large glass kitchen/diner extension at the rear takes advantage of the wonderful evening sun. Our architects; Fielden Fowles, have won many awards for their sympathetic conversion of historic buildings so they seemed like a natural choice to help us with this project. They have managed to design something simple and thoroughly modern adding a glass extension to the back of the 16th century Farmhouse. This opens us the house to make the most of the Cornish sunsets and the views over the fields and provides a very large and social space for cooking and entertaining. We have a background in fashion and design so have loved renovating our Farmstead, keen to retain original features like the 16th century inglenook fireplace. There is also an additional wood burner. It’s easy to curl up besides with a good book. Our interiors style is an eclectic mix of mid century, vintage finds, bold graphics and souvenirs from our travels. Our signature look has pops of bright colours contrasting with crisp white walls. We enjoy collecting artwork and they are displayed on walls and open shelves throughout the property which we think makes the house feel homely. We always invest in good quality, be that mattresses, bedding, towels or toiletries (Haekels). There are 3 large reception rooms, including a snug with a smart TV, so guests can spread out. The kitchen/diner has bi fold doors onto the terrace beyond where you will find the Gozney pizza oven. There are 2 family bathrooms, one upstairs, one downstairs. There are 4 bedrooms, the kingsize master has an en-suite. There is another kingsize bed, one double and a fourth twin bedroom. Our gardens have developed over the years. They are a mix of grassy areas, perfect for football, a more formal garden which is lovely and sheltered, and a gravel garden with prairie grasses. We also have some wooded areas with dens that kids love to explore. There are 3 adjacent properties at Venn Farm, The Farmhouse, the Cob which sleeps 9 and the Red Barn which sleeps 4. Each has been designed for privacy but can be rented together for friends and family get togethers, sleeping 21 in total. We have been hosting for 15 years now and still love it. Many guests are now good friends. We hope you enjoy your stay.
