Plan an unforgettable hill country stay in this charming creekside home on 2 heavily-treed acres; private entry/patio/full kitchen/living area; country meets modern vibe; large fenced area (sometimes shared/upstairs rental optional)-fire pit, zero gravity chairs, gas grill, hammock, bench swings, access to creek/walking path. Nearby outings: Wimberley town square shopping/restaurants, wineries/breweries, glass blowing show/shop, & nature areas After a beautiful hill country drive, use the huge circular drive to pull in & park, completely free of charge. Enter your creekside retreat through the main gate at the blue two-story log cabin-style home. Notice the large fenced area on the right that invites you to explore nature and escape the worries of the world, as you step up onto the covered patio. You’ve just become part of our vision to share this amazing, special property. We finished a massive remodel in 2022 (ceiling to floor, wall to wall, inside and outside), so we have taken great care to try to ensure that our guests have a wonderful, special experience. As you step up onto the creekside patio and enter the home, immediately see the inviting combined living space. Gorgeous granite countertops, stained concrete floors, and clean white cabinetry bring a modern feel to the otherwise warm, country vibe. There are no halls and therefore, no wasted space! Because this is our primary residence, you will find the downstairs kitchen generously stocked with the items you need for preparing/serving almost any meal you desire...spices, oils, pots, pans, baking/serving dishes, glasses/cups, flatware, BBQ tools, stainless steel appliances, etc. The interior of the refrigerator will be clean and empty, but the door will include typical items (which you are more than welcome to use, as desired). There will also be a Keurig machine/mugs, with an assortment of coffees/teas/sweeteners available for your enjoyment. The kitchen appliances and countertops border a gigantic granite island, where you can serve food and/or sit on 6 counter-height cushioned barstools with backs. Gather in the living room, where you will find comfy rockers, a large reclining leather sofa (buttons inside the arms toward the front), a modern chair, and a piano bench. You are welcome to bring chairs in from the dining room, if you need extra/alternative seating. You might want to play the piano (recorded Steinway sound, with adjustable volume and resonance) or watch a show on the big screen TV. Straight ahead, you’ll find a rustic wood dining table where many guests love to share meals, laughter, and an assortment of games (found in the bathroom linen closet). The downstairs bathroom has plenty of brand new towels (bought October 2022), as well as waterproof “mattress covers” for any downstairs outdoor furniture that is damp from rain. Full-sized shampoo, conditioner and body wash can be found in the River rock-accented shower (no tub). Just past the dining room and bathroom, you’ll find two downstairs bedrooms. Both have new queen mattresses (bought in 2022) and are made with new sheets (bought in 2022). The bedrooms are both decorated in unique styles, one more modern and one more traditional. This rental does not include the upstairs treetop hideaway, which is available for rentals separately. This area does not share any walls and is accessed through its own gate (at the bottom of the exterior stairs) and private entry. This is such a fabulous home and we hope you love it as much as we do! Our friends and family have referred to this property as magical, healing, special…a paradise..a shangri-la. There is one locked space downstairs, where we stay when we are home. This allows us to prepare the rest of the space JUST FOR OUR GUESTS. Don’t miss out on booking early! This home is rarely available and it is waiting for you! This is a very small neighborhood with properties that are significantly spread out. This land is densely populated with tall, gorgeous trees and our home is right on Smith Creek. We are located on approximately 2 acres of land and many of our neighbors have much larger tracts of land. The drought has seriously impacted Texas creeks, but our downstairs patio still is waterfront! It is more pond-like at this time (shown in photo), but with one good rain, it will be flowing strongly again. This is a peaceful, rural setting, perfect for your hill country getaway from all the worries of the world…but only about 5 minutes to the amazing Wimberley town square and all the nearby attractions.
The road leading to our property is fairly narrow, with a rather steep ditch on one side at certain points. So, once you turn off 3237, be sure to slow down to 25 MPH. When another vehicle is on the road, someone will pull over to let the other by. Be sure to wave as you/they pass by, as this is the Wimberley Way! There is a large, private, circular driveway made of road base. There is plenty of space for your vehicle to park off the access road, right beside the home. You may share the driveway with upstairs guests or us, if you’re only renting the downstairs area. There is plenty of space for this, so please do not park other vehicles in.
