Come and relax with family or friends at this charming, peaceful cottage located in a quiet authentic village. A friendly bar and restaurant, village shop and boulangerie/epicure is on your doorstep or venture to one of the many picturesque towns nearby for markets, supermarkets and shops. Relax by your private pool, enjoy the garden, country walks or venture out by bike or car to explore the area. The stone cottage is semi detached and has a downstairs open plan living/dining/kitchen area, with separate toilet downstairs. Upstairs in the cottage are: 2 bedrooms - a master bedroom with king size bed, a second bedroom with 2 single beds - bathroom with shower and toilet, and a laundry cupboard with washing machine and dryer. Back doors from the cottage open to a small fenced gravel patio area with table for dining in the summer. The driveway beside the cottage leads to the barn just metres behind. In front of the barn guests will also have exclusive use of another hard patio area with small patio set. Glass double doors in the barn open into a beautiful large double bedroom. This room leads into a gym with exercise equipment, and then to a summer kitchenette/dining room equipped with additional fridge for keeping your wine chilled. This kitchenette room opens on to a large beautiful covered patio area overlooking the back garden. Perfect for enjoying a bbq and watching the kids play in the pool. Well behaved dogs are welcome on application , and we ask for all dog mess to be picked up.

I honestly cannot rate or indeed thank Lynley enough following our stay. We had to contact Lynley whilst already on our holiday as our original accommodation was so poor and we desperately wanted to move. She replied almost immediately and the following day we were welcomed into her beautiful holiday cottage in Château-Garnier. The pictures do not do justice to this wonderfully presented, well-equipped and meticulously planned accommodation. The rooms were so comfortable, it was spotlessly clean throughout and there was so much space. The garden is stunning and enormous, (and very secure which is great if you have a dog), and Lynley and her local 'network' were attentive and very lovely - ensuring we had welcome goodies and advising us on the local area, (which is also stunning). Lynley, you saved our holiday - thank you so much.
Lynley und Russ haben uns persönlich und sehr herzlich empfangen und uns alles gezeigt. Das Haus ist sehr liebevoll eingerichtet. Der Garten mit zweiter Terrasse, Pool, Grill etc. eignet sich wunderbar zum entspannen. Es gibt schöne, kleine Orte in der Umgebung (~30 Min). Wir waren auch in Vivonne und Ruffec Kayak fahren. Einziges Manko war, dass unser Aufenthalt mit der Haupturlaubszeit in der Region zusammen gefallen ist, und somit auch einige Geschäfte und Restaurants in der Umgebung geschlossen hatten. Trotzdem haben wir immer was schönes gefunden.
We had an amazing month in the cottage. It was fully equipped and Lynley and Russ were amazing hosts. The pool area is wonderful and the table outside the back very handy for brekkies outside as the sun shines there for most of morning early afternoon. Everything is as described. Loads of activities within 30 min drive. Lots of country walks and a pitch/tennis court area with fishing spots. Plenty places to explore. The village is very welcoming. There is a depot de pan in the village with lovely fresh bread and pastries and a small shop with essentials open most mornings. The WiFi is great! We didn’t want to leave 🤣 and hope to be back again.

We are situated in an authentic French village and our local neighbors are friendly. The village has a shop, hairdresser, school and church. Located on the River Clain. There are many historic and picturesque towns and villages within an easy drive through beautiful countryside. See my guidebook for recommended places to visit.
You will need a car as public transport is not readily available. The area is great for biking and walking.
