The room was perfect. It is under a 5 minute walk to the square where there is a nice beach. The balcony of the room was my favorite- with a view of the mountain and the sea. Zoe and her father are very nice and helpful. I would recommend staying with them.

Zoe is a great host, very kind and always helpfull. We loved our stay at Glaros and would totally recommend to stay here. Therma is also a perfect place to stay in Ikaria.

Glaros rooms was an extremely pleasant place to stay. The room itself comprises of old-fashioned dark wooden furniture including a large wardrobe and a desk, a lovely bathroom, large windows with shutters and a balcony. The rooms are very well lit, clean and spacious with very good air conditioning and the wifi is also very good. The cooking facilities include a very efficient induction hob, a casserole pot, frying pan, an extra single hob for making coffee, a briki and mugs. I was also pleasantly surprised that a lady came every few days to provide clean towels, sheets, loo roll, soap and who also gave the room a general clean. Zoe, the host, was incredibly helpful whenever I needed help with anything. From asking where to buy an e-cigarette to general questions about my travels to and from Ikaria she was always just a message away. Zoe also sent a message every now and then just to check in and see if I was aright and enjoying my stay. Therma itself is a beautiful small village less than 2km from the main neighbouring town, Agios Kirykos. There are a couple of very good restaurants, a few cafes, an amazing bakery and a small shop where you can buy seasonal fruit and vegetables and other basic items. The beach is under a 5 minute walk from the room. It is within a bay which makes it perfect for swimming as the water is practically still every day. There is also a cave to the right of the bay that people bathe in - a public hot spring. If you’re like me and you like walking there is a path that goes left along the coast from Therma providing stunning views of the sea and includes many more private beaches. Going the other way, past Agios Kirykos, there is another hot spring about a 40 minute walk from Therma - a very special place. I thoroughly recommend Glaros rooms. I ended up staying an extra three and a half weeks (on top of my monthly stay) as I just didn’t want to leave - I felt completely at home. A perfect place to both work remotely on my computer and to relax, meet local Ikarian people and eat traditional Ikarian cuisine which included plenty of vegetables, pulses and fish.

It was an amazing stay in paradise! It couldn‘t have been better!!! Zoe and her father are very lovely, kind and helpful at any time! They really take care of their guests as if they were their own childrens! Always a knock on the door or a message away. If you have a wish, they try to make everything possible! The environment is stunning!! From my balcony I could see an impressive mountain, underneath a madow with goats and chicken. Sitting there was like meditating! A real spiritual experience. You forget the world and all the trouble you might have in your life... Everything is calme and you hear the wind running through the trees. The cicadas sing you a good night song! I loved it so much! The way to the sea is just a few meters. There is a small mountain to „climb“ but after 300 meters you are in the pretty little village Therma with wonderful hot springs. I want to come back to this amazing place!! I miss it so much, it felt like home! Thank you, Zoe, for your great hospitality! You, and the wonderful island Ikaria will stay in my heart!!!
