Barmouth · 农家仓房 · 1室1床1.0卫 · 可住2人 · Cosy barn near Barmouth with mountain views
Perfect for those who want to get away from it all. There are woodland trails from the doorstep and amazing mountain views. This stylish accommodation in Snowdonia National Park has a live flame bio-ethanol fire, comfortable seating and stunning beamed roof. The king sized bed with quality mattress delivers a great night's sleep. There is underfloor heating throughout and hot water on demand. With plenty of private outside space, we feel remote, but it's only 3 miles to Barmouth and the coast. The space has recently been decorated and is light and clean with a double-height ceiling in the main living/sleeping areas. With its comfortable furnishings, fittings and artwork it also feels cosy and inviting. The easy to use bio-ethanol fire supplies a smoke free, live flame fire with no mess. The spacious sleeping area is effectively divided from where you can relax, eat or simply enjoy the view. Off the main space, there is a kitchenette (with a small induction hob, toaster, microwave, fridge and washing machine) and a separate shower-room/wc. Outside you have a private balcony and a patio area for relaxing and dining (BBQ supplied along with a fire basket). It has uninterrupted views and on a clear night you can see the milky way. There is secure storage if you want to bring your own bicycles and space to hose down and dry muddy kit. The local ponds are used for swimming and kayaking while Cadair Idris (893 m/2,930 ft), in view from the barn, is a short drive, but a challenging climb away. The barn is also well-equipped with maps/guidebooks (including our own recommendations) on the local area, its landmarks, flora and fauna. There are walks and bike rides right from the front door and you may see or hear cuckoo, buzzards, rabbits and even pine martens. The Rhinog range, and beyond, can be accessed on foot from the barn or by a short drive into the next valley. We get our wifi via a mobile phone signal. Although the signal is normally highly reliable (we stream tv and work from home successfully) it is subject to occasional weather interference and transmitter maintenance work. There is a tv in the barn, but we would not always guarantee being able to watch major sporting/similar events! In terms of mobile phone signals, both EE and 3 Network have good connectivity, other providers currently less so. The living space is open-plan and so ideal for one or two. If you do want to explore the suitability of accommodating children (for e.g. bringing a cot) - please do message me. A well behaved dog is welcome. Please indicate when booking if you are planning to bring a dog. If you change your mind the pet fee will be refunded.
We had a great little getaway in Jane’s place., The location is perfect for walking in the surrounding forest and the barn is very warm and comfortable. We loved the views from the porch and enjoyed the adjacent private and quiet garden (so did the dogs!). Jane was the perfect host and welcomed us with a smile. She is very helpful, has lots of recommendations for the area and was always just a message away if needed. Thanks making us feel so welcome! Katrin, Geoff and the doggies
If you want to experience complete silence, apart from nature, this is the place to be! Super comfortable and very well equipped with all mod cons. Totally private with your own balcony, table & chairs, fire pit, bbq & gardens with amazing south facing views of Cadair Idris.
Such an amazing place. Beautiful, clean, stylish and cozy . Value for money. Thanks Jane for having us. ;)
The property is set in a mixture of mature woodland and commercial forestry. There are numerous forest trails through the woods which link into a wider network of footpaths giving you access to the hills above (we are at the southern most end of the Rhinog Range) and the Mawddach Estuary below.
We are 1 mile from the main road (connecting Barmouth on the coast and Dolgellau) up a steep and narrow single-track road which has limited passing places although traffic is very infrequent. There is ample parking at the property. Barmouth is approx. 3 miles away and can also be accessed on foot via footpaths and/or quiet lanes. Dolgellau is 7 miles away. The walk to Dolgellau is via footpaths and includes stunning views and can involve a pitstop at the iconic George III pub at Penmaenpool. A regular bus service (T3/39) runs from between Dolgellau and Barmouth along the main road (request stop "Plas Caerdeon") and taxis from both towns will also drop off to our address but do need to be booked in advance (we can help with contact details).
Asda and Co-op both also deliver to our postcode. Barmouth has a supermarket whilst Dolgellau has two with a wide-range of independent shops too.
There are two petrol stations in Dolgellau and charging points for electric vehicles in the main car park.
