Darwin Cottage is ideal for two people who are looking to explore Keswick and the surrounding areas. We drove out to different walks but we also did a couple right on our doorstep. Would recommend staying here - everything as described. We didn’t want to leave!

We really enjoyed staying in this centrally located property in Keswick - providing a parking permit (as there's no parking at the house) was very welcome, and the property was clean and cosy. However, during our stay, we discovered (via the noise) that the adjacent property was being renovated. This was clear by the drilling and sawing pounding through the walls, sometimes from 8.30am - 10pm (weekend included). We did complain to the agent, Lakeland Retreats, a number of times, but unfortunately they were slow to respond and were unwilling to move us to one of the many other properties they had in the area and gave no advance notice of works. Air BnB were also quick to dismiss our concerns of renting a cottage with a building site attached. Our stay was in Jan 2024, so please bear in mind there could we work continuing for 3-4 months for anyone considering renting this property. On the last day of our stay, when pushed, the agent offered a small refund for the issues we faced.

Perfectly positioned near all amenities and easy access to quieter spots. Had a lovely time cosying by the log fire and drinking tea after a long walk.

We had a great stay at Michelle’s place! The house was clean, perfectly sized, so close to the town and we really appreciated the well equipped kitchen, the beds were comfy and cosy, and lots of space for storing items.
