Just you, the wilderness and the stars in this cozy one-bedroom guest house with private parking, entrance, deck, and fenced backyard [fire pit when permitted!]. Snuggle up to wood stove with a local wine or spirits [honor bar], hot chocolate or tea or stretch out upstairs in a lounge chair or bed with a good book. Play a board game with your stay mate or do some writing. Wander the creek, visit the barn for a spectacular valley view, visit the Redwoods, star gaze, and watch the wildlife. This lovely little guest house is nestled in a small valley in the foothills of Southern Humboldt County. Relax in your own fenced private backyard with a fire pit [and propane barbecue in the Spring and Summer months]. Salmon Creek runs the length of the land offering quiet spots for reflection and some GREAT swimming holes. The night sky is electric with stars and on a full moon, the land is lit with her blue light. There are forests and lots of hiking trails. Mushrooming is good in the fall and winter as well as other year-around foraging. The Redwoods and beaches are near [within an hour]. You will enjoy the silence. We have local products for sale in the little house and local adventure guides we would love to share. Come visit us soon!

Truly magical! If you don't mind a bumpy road and being in private area this is the place for you. The hosts Rachael and Carly were the sweetest, most kindest people. Everything we could've asked for and more.
Rachael is an amazing host and honestly probably the best I've ever had at an Air BnB. Any question I had was quickly answered and she gave lots of great suggestions around the place and the area. She even had a fire going for us and some homemade treats to greet us on arrival. The place is lovely and incredibly clean and comfy. It has everything you need and more with fast internet for those of us that can't quite ever fully get away from work. The area is really peaceful with a creek right out front and lush green hills all around. We saw lots of deer and turkeys and had a lovely starry night out with the fire pit. I will definitely be back soon.

This was my girlfriend and I’s third time staying with Carly and Rachael at the Bungalow, this time for my birthday celebration. From the very beginning the space was perfect! Quiet, peaceful, and relaxing, exactly what we needed after the chaos of the past few months. I also cannot say enough good things about Carly and Rachael as hosts! So kind and thoughtful, from baking me a delicious birthday treat before we arrived and having a fire roaring when we got there, to having recommendations for just about any craving or activity we were searching for, to even offering to grab food while they were in town to save us the drive down the mountain! We will certainly be back again soon!
Rachael's place was pure bliss. Easy to find yet incredibly peaceful with the most wonderful touches throughout the space. Stunning surroundings in all directions, they have a creek right on their property you can walk to and pond higher up for a nice little hike and great views. The space and everything in it was so comfortable and they really went the extra mile to provide the best hospitality and so many bonuses. It had everything we needed or wanted and more! They even cooked us the most divine mini strawberry cheesecakes for our arrival! Such a special and unique place.

We are just off the 101, nestled in the hills of Southern Humboldt County in Northern California - an hour from the beach - half an hour from Miranda and about 224 miles north of San Francisco. We are completely off grid providing our own water and electricity. Be prepared for a WINDY, BUMPY DRIVE from Miranda to the Farm. It is best travelled in daylight if it is your first time to the farm. Just take your time. Lower Thomas road is a gravel and dirt road [about the last 5-8 minutes of your drive]. It is NOT a road for towing trailers or driving oversized vehicles. If you have questions, please ask us before committing to a stay! We want you to be happy about your adventure!
We have lots of parking space and the Little House has its own driveway. The road is often narrow and if you get lost, it may take you some time to find a place to turn around. While neighbors may be curious about who you are, they are very friendly and helpful when accessible [many have gates]. Again, best to arrive before dark. There are no street lights up here!
