My Sisters and I had a really great stay! Although the weather was a bit chilly, we still were able to visit the beach and take in the scenery.

Artsy, eclectic, diverse and full of natural beauty, Miller Beach is nestled among the dunes and sandy beaches of Lake Michigan's southernmost tip. We're completely surrounded by the Indiana Dunes National Park, so wildlife sightings are very common here.
Enjoy local shopping, dining and creative activities throughout our little community. Relax on the beach, paddle a kayak around a serene lagoon, surf, snowshoe or ski, or just go for long walks in wild places.
Further abroad, the Northwest Indiana region offers family-friendly attractions; and Chicago's museums, nightlife and Michigan Avenue shopping are just an hour or so away by car or commuter train.
Take a short walk to the peaceful, semi-secluded beach or take a private trail that leads through the beautiful Marquette Park to the public beach. The large park has much to offer year round. Enjoy bike trails, sledding, bbq shelters, frisbee golf, Bootcamp, public beach, historical Aquatorium Bath House and Pavilion venues, kayaking and fishing on the lagoon, playground and concession stand with outdoor live music. The Aquatorium and Pavilion are perfect venues for weddings or large events.
This beach home and neighborhood are dear to us. We want you to enjoy and appreciate the space and community as much as we do. We consider you our personal guests. Because we live just a couple blocks away, we are available if you need anything, an extra cooler, beach chairs, umbrella, borrow a cup of sugar (or tequila) and give you directions to the current happenings. If you need anything, just give us a call, message or walk down the beach and find us. It’s a small beach town.
The Beach House address is 6829 Ironwood Avenue in the Miller Beach neighborhood of Gary, Indiana, 46403. It’s located in the heart of Miller Beach, very near where the beach runs into the Indiana Dunes National Park. Both destinations are just a short stroll from the house.
Several interstates run through our little corner of the world, and the SouthShore Line commuter train is just two miles away at Rte. 12 and Lake Street. Go west to explore all that Chicago has to offer -- you'll pop out right on Michigan Avenue at Millenium Park in about an hour.
Here in Miller Beach, a National Park shuttle runs from the train to the beach in summer months - catch it for a free tour around town!

The easiest access is from US Route 20, turn north on Lake Street. Go through town, past the Nature Center and turn right on Hemlock. At the light, turn left on Grand Avenue. Take the first right onto Forest Avenue. In a half block take a slight left onto Ironwood Avenue. The house is the third house on the right.
Parking:
The front and side driveways can easily accommodate up to 6 cars. DO NOT park in front of neighbors houses.
Things To Do
Walk just 2 1/2 blocks to the peaceful, semi-secluded beach or Marquette Park (public) Beach. The park has bike trails, beach, historical Aquatorium and The Pavillion, kayaking on the lagoon, playground and concession stand with seasonal live entertainment. The Aquatorium or The Pavilion are perfect venues for weddings or large events.
If you want to hang with the VERY friendly and animated locals, a 10 minute walk or a quick drive will get you to Flamingo Pizza and Beach Cafe on the corner of Locust Avenue and Shelby Street. I promise that you will be highly entertained. They both serve food and cocktails. They both offer live entertainment, outdoor seating and serve breakfast on the weekends.
A 15 minute walk or 3 minute drive east down the beach will take you to Wells Street beach. They have great paid parking, concession stand and a beer garden with live entertainment on Wednesday evenings.
Indiana Dunes National Park at West Beach is just a 3 minute drive east off of County Line Road. Enjoy hiking trails and a set of stairs leading to the top dune that has an amazing view of the dunes, lake and Chicago skyline.
If you drive a few blocks west into downtown Miller Beach you can visit the shops on Lake Street. The School House Shops,Indie Indie Bang Bang, Lake Street Gallery and Gardner Art Center are worth browsing through.
Miller Pizza Station, Tacos and Tequila , 18th Street Brewery, D And K Sandwiches and Vibrations are the places to go to eat on Lake Street.
Miller Pizza Station has great best pizza and sandwiches, beer and wine, outdoor patio and live entertainment on the weekends in the summer. They also deliver.
Tequila And Tacos has killer gourmet tacos and an extensive selection of tequilas and great margaritas. They also have a patio for outdoor dining.
18th Street Brewery is famous for their craft beers, whiskey, gourmet sandwiches, a beer garden, casual bar and a swanky room. Children are not allowed indoors.
D And K Sandwiches offers comfort food including bbq, Mac and cheese, salads and tasty cake.
Visit Vibrations for fresh and vegan food (or yoga)
Below Vibrations, you can enjoy the cozy and funky vibe of the Lavender Lounge for cocktails.
On summer Sundays enjoy live entertainment, fresh produce, tacos, local artists and more at the farmers market located next to the Old School House Shops on Lake Street. 11am-1pm
“First Friday” happened on the first Friday of every month on Lake Street. Live entertainment, shops, food, venders and people watching.
If city life brings you here, hop on the South Shore Train to Chicago. (Train schedule in guest book)The station is right on Lake Street in downtown Miller Beach. It’s a one hour ride that will take you to museums, shopping or drop you right downtown in Millennium Station.
Note- Currently, Miller Beach train station is under renovation. Please check the website for alternate stations in the area.
Ride on one of the many bike trails through the dunes or take a hike.
You may notice “Bird” Electric Scooter Rentals laying around town or in the park. Just download the app, pick one up and cruise around town.
