Reconnect with nature at this unforgettable property. Comfortable family home set in large area of regenerating bush. 15 minutes by car from CBD. Three minutes drive from major bus terminal with frequent buses to city and airport area. Very close to Makara Peak and Wright's Hill mountain biking areas. Close to Skyline Walkway, Zealandia eco-sanctuary, Otari-Wilton's plant museum and top of Cable Car. The house has five bedrooms. Four upstairs and one downstairs. The downstairs room is available for bookings for more than 6 guests or by prior agreement for bookings with 6 or fewer guests. Three bedrooms upstairs can have either a super king or two single beds. The beds are specially made to zip together. The fourth bedroom upstairs is smaller and has a king single. The fifth bedroom, which is downstairs, sleeps up to 3. It has a bed that can be either a super king or two single beds. It also has a single bed. This room is available for bookings of more than 6 guests or by prior agreement for bookings with 6 or fewer guests. 2.5 bathrooms, one an en suite to the main bedroom. There is no bathroom downstairs but there is sink and hot and cold running water in the downstairs bedroom. Two lounges both with large screen TV's and modern heat pumps. Two log burners. One in each lounge and firewood to operate. A heat transfer system from lower lounge to bedrooms. Several heaters/coolers/air purifiers. Selection of games, books, popular and children's DVDs and puzzles. Laptop desks in upper lounge, one upstairs bedroom and in downstairs bedroom. Well equipped modern kitchen with: wall oven; dishwasher; induction hob; cooking utensils; appliances like rice cooker and hotpot, and fridge freezer. Nespresso and espresso machines. Separate dining area with great views over Karori Stream gorge and bush. Table and chairs for up to 10. Child's high chair and travel cot. Weber gas barbecue on deck behind house with outdoor dining table and chairs. Large garden around house with swimming hole in stream. Approximately 5 km of private tracks on property. Glow worms at night. Lots of birds, some endangered. Great views from hill tops.

Karori ShortStay in the middle of the regenerating native bush area to the south west of the Wellington CBD. The Makara Peak Mountain Biking Park is on the opposite side of the valley. Its main entrance is about 500 meters away. The major down hill tracks on Wright's Hill end nearby and the Skyline Walkway from Karori to Johnsonville starts nearby. There is an 180 hectare private botanical reserve behind and the southern fence of Zealandia eco-sanctuary is visible from top of property and about 1 km away. Lots of birdlife. It is close in to the city but you would not know it when at the house looking around.
There is parking for 3 or 4 cars in front of the house and a turning area. Access to this is over a bridge with a 2 tonne axle weight limit. There is a narrow grassed area for parking on the road side of the bridge.
The main Karori bus terminal is 1.8km away at the start of South Karori Road. Buses are very frequent. This is the end of one of the main bus services for the city and connects with the buses for other major routes in the city. It also goes close to the railways station and the intercity bus terminal.
You can get a bus to this terminal by a short walk from the Airport as it runs from the east through the city to Karori. Much cheaper than the special airport bus. Baggage not an issue.
There is another bus service that runs from about 500m away to the city at peak commuter/school times on weekdays. You can change onto the main Karori bus service at several places on this route.
