Great house to stay in if you have a couple of days free and are looking to get out of the city and relax in a cozy place. The house is literally in the middle of the woods and has a couple of neighbors so you don’t feel that alone. Everything is clean and functional when we arrived and kitchen has a lot more stuff than described!! Would definitely come back.

My friends and I needed a peaceful weekend away and this was definitely it! The place was clean, had a ton of games, blankets for us when we were around the fire, plenty of supplies for cooking and it was secluded in a way that made us feel safe. We got great hiking recommendations and Megan was responsive whenever I had a question. Thank you for hosting us!

Our main concern with the house is that there were mice. Not an ocassional visitor, they were IN the house. There were mice excrements all over the house. The first day we didn’t realize it was mice poop (we’ve never seen it before!). The second day we found more all over the house including the kitchen, close to our daughter’s crib… That’s when -connecting it to the weird noises and the trap we saw in the attic- we realized it could be mice poop, and searched on the internet to find -for our disgust- it was! It was too late at night to leave with our daughters so we had to stay for the night (bearing the scratches in the ceiling) & leave the following morning. I think Megan didn’t realize the magnitude of the problem, when we told her she said because of the location there could be an ‘occasional mouse’. We have been upstate NYC many times and never encountered this. There were some structural problems in the house, it was smaller than expected and the neighbor was quite close.

Excellent stay with a stellar attention to detail. The location was perfect to go to Bellearye for a skiing weekend. The host was helpful. The wood accent is wonderful as well. Highly recommended
