Lookout forms part of a beautifully restored former dairy on an organic family farm. The site is in Lower Wraxall, situated in the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Visitors can enjoy the peaceful gardens and boardwalk through beautiful woodland along a river. The entire site and accommodation is accessible to disabled visitors. The barn has been transformed into a stylish holiday home, designed as a peaceful retreat for families including guests with disabilities. In total there are five cottages surrounding a pretty shared courtyard garden, which has been thoughtfully designed to provide peace and privacy for guests. The original farmyard and barn have been restored and there are often farm animals around for guests to pet or feed. From the courtyard there is a beautiful route out through farmland down to the riverbank situated in a Site of Nature Conservation Interest, perfect for a peaceful picnic and enjoyment of the beautiful landscape and wildlife. All of this is accessible via a wheelchair-accessible boardwalk. Lookout has a generous open-plan living area with a well-equipped kitchen with rise and fall worktops and accessible cupboards and appliances. There is a comfortable sitting area with a wood burning stove and television, and also a dining area with table and chairs. The high ceilings with exposed trusses give a spacious feel to the beautifully designed interior. There are three bedrooms, a 5' king-size, a twin bedroom with two 3' profiling beds and hoist rail through to accessible wet room, and a second zip & link 5' king-size bedroom which can be reconfigured to two 2' 6" single beds upon request. The large accessible wet room has an overhead and adjustable shower, wash basin and WC with support rails and heated towel rail. The family bathroom has a bath with overhead shower, wash basin, WC and heated towel rail. Outside is a small terrace with garden table, bench and chairs overlooking the pretty courtyard garden. Outlook forms part of Wraxall Yard. There are four further accessible cottages of Ladymeade, Kittwhistle, Lynchets, and Clementine that can be booked for groups of friends or family, and there is a large shared room and kitchen for lunchtime or evening gatherings which can be booked separately, subject to availability if three or more of the cottages are booked together. Given the peaceful nature of the site, it is not designed for rowdy parties! The village sits around a small chalk stream and features a Grade I listed building, St Mary's Church. There is a long and rich history of farming in Lower Wraxall and archaeological evidence of mediaeval farms can still be seen today. The wider area has wonderful attractions, whatever your interests. Additional Information: One well-behaved dog welcome (small additional charge). Travel cot and highchair available on request. There is a portable vibration pad available upon request which wakes and alerts the deaf and hard of hearing in the event of an emergency. A hoist can be provided upon request and used in the the twin profile bedroom where the hoist rail runs the length of the bedroom through to the accessible wet room. Use of the separate communal space cannot be guaranteed, as it is subject to availability and needs to be reserved in advance High-speed fibre internet connection. Wraxall Yard is within 10 minutes driving time of three amazing nature reserves, including the Kingcombe Centre. The properties are close to some beautiful beaches on Dorset's famous Jurassic Coast, and historic features like the Cerne Giant and Hardy's birthplace are also nearby.

The towns of Beaminster (8 miles) and Evershot (3.5 miles) are close to Wraxall Yard. Beaminster is a town known for award winning historic gardens and being home to some wonderfully talented artists. Evershot is the second highest village in Dorset at 625ft above sea level and is the source of the River Frome. Also close by is Minterne House which has a history and associations as interesting as any house in Dorset, although it's best known to visitors for its wonderful gardens.
South east of Wraxall Yard is the county town Dorchester which is a Roman jewel in the heart of Dorset. This accessible, historic market town is on the banks of the River Frome, and is a vibrant destination for sightseeing and shopping, that boasts a rich heritage and is scattered with visible remnants of its ancient origins, from an impressive Roman villa to a Neolithic henge.
