Oak Cottage, built in the 1850s, is a traditional Lakeland three bedroom property that sleeps six, spread over four floors. It is one of a terrace on the small road in Chapel Stile leading up to Holy Trinity Church. Oak Cottage really is an idyllic Lake District holiday cottage in a great location. Its entrance leads into a small hallway followed by an open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area. Comfortable seating for six surrounds the open fireplace, flat screen TV, blue ray DVD player and BT Vision. The lounge is a cosy space to enjoy a good film after a day out exploring on the Lake District fells or curl up in front of the fire with a good book. The kitchen has warm, oak fronted units, double oven, microwave, gas hob, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. The large oak dining table seats six, so you can all enjoy a meal together while you make plans for the rest of your holiday in the Lake District. There are two bedrooms on the first floor. The master bedroom has a king size bed, en-suite shower room and views over the village centre from the bedroom. The second bedroom has a double bed with the best view, looking over the fields down Great Langdale Valley, towards Lingmoor Fell. The main family bathroom with bath, WC and sink, is next to this double room, almost making it ensuite. On the second floor is the large ‘L’ shaped twin bedroom with ensuite shower room, sink and WC, small seating area with TV (freeview only) and tea making facilities. This room is perfect for grandparents or grown up children wanting a bit of space. From the lounge there is access to the basement which has been converted into a games and TV room suitable for children. The 3 large comfy bean bags are great for playing on the Play Station or watching TV. At one end of the basement, are a washer, dryer, wine fridge and storage. The lawned garden with picturesque views towards Lingmoor Fell can be accessed from here and just outside the door is an outbuilding conveniently converted into a heated drying room.
