萨福克 · 整套小木屋 · 2室3床2.0卫 · 可住4人 · Secluded lodge between Aldeburgh & Thorpeness
Secluded and quiet but so close to Aldeburgh and Thorpeness. Stylish space perfectly set-up for groups of friends, families or couples. A perfect hideaway at all times of the year. We are dog friendly. Max of 2 well behaved dogs - please make sure to book dogs as there is an additional charge for cleaning, wear and tear. There is parking for up to 2 cars, right by the lodge. The lodge is located on a farm outside Aldeburgh and one of just 12. It is extremely comfortable and has everything you will need to make your stay as comfortable as possible - a real home from home. We have also just put in new flooring and carpet throughout to make your stay as nice as possible. There is a large (20ftx20ft)open-plan sitting room, with full kitchen plus dining area for 6. This a great holiday space - please see pictures. The sitting room has two French windows which open onto the terrace with a second table and chairs for outside dining (seats 4 to 5). There is a lower tier with a rattan sofa and stool for relaxing and reading in the sun. The upper terrace is fenced with gates at both ends which is great if you are bringing pets or small children. The terrace overlooks the beautiful lake which is a magnet for wildlife (Sadly the liner split over the summer so the lake has dried up for the moment but will be repaired and re-filled as soon as a new liner can be organised!) This is a really quiet and secluded spot which you will love, whilst being very close to the hustle and bustle of Aldeburgh and Thorpeness. We often bike down to Thorpeness for tennis and to go out on the Meare. Or to visit the numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in Aldeburgh. We are also next door to North Warren RSPB where you can walk through the reed beds on the raised boardwalk. A must-do for your visit.
We were so impressed with the cabin. Clean, tidy, quiet and had everything that we needed. Very close to lots of attractions of Aldeburgh and Orford. Would definitely recommend.
A lovely lodge to relax and chill out in, very peaceful with only a few other lodges. The lodge was spotlessly clean and had everything you needed. Lots of wildlife to watch and I’m sure if the lake hadn’t dried up there would have been lots more. I loved staying here and would love to return…..highly recommended. My only criticism is I had to leave!! Thank you John I had a great stay.
Loved the peace and quiet and enjoyed watching (and hearing) the wildlife. The Lodge is comfortable and bright. Just settled in then had to leave. Will stay long longer next time!
A lovely lodge in peaceful surroundings, close to great beaches and amenities. The lodge was much more spacious than it may seem from the pictures, and was very well equipped for children and adults alike. There are some lodges close by, but overall we didn’t feel overlooked and it was a great space. Highly recommend for those wanting easy access to Aldeburgh/Thorpeness etc! John was very responsive to a small issue we had with an alarm. I think our one quibble would be the cleaning fee of £85, which felt very high given we had to strip the beds and take rubbish/recycling away, and were only there 2 nights. However, the lodge was clean and we had no complaints.
There are some great places to eat and drink. The Brudenell has a fabulous, terrace overlooking the beach and sea; the Lighthouse has great food; The parrot at Aldringham is sister to the Dolphin pub (Thorpeness). We also love the 2 cafes in Thorpeness. Fish and chips are great BUT if you don't like queuing try getting them from Leiston instead - same co as Aldeburgh but you can pre-order. Great bakery in Aldeburgh. Also Tesco and Coop a short drive away.
Amazing walks in North Warren RSPB, and down through the woods, to the sea.
Walk down to the coast path that runs between Aldeburgh and Thorpeness. Go back up the long driveway to Leiston Road. Join the footpath on the other side of the road, walking down through the forest onto the old railway line. Walk or cycle. Great for dogs, a lovely walk. Turn left for Thorpeness, right for Aldeburgh!
