Robert has an amazing place. He was very responsive and extremely flexible. The views were amazing and the internet was fast. Robert quickly addressed any issues that came up! We are extremely satisfied!
Robert's place is one of those gems that you find which is not only serene, peaceful and well kept but also won't cost you a left kidney to get on AiRB&B unlike many other places that try to milk you for every nickel and dime. The ride there in my crv was easy and as pointed out that it may be an issue in a regular car during heavy rains or snow but otherwise its a really well graded road right to the house. It feels really enchanting when you spend time there. The inside is comfy and homely whilst outside gives a feel of privacy along with oneness with nature. He has a ton of firewood stored for our use. Kitchen is well stacked. Beautiful comfy living area and kitchen. Bedrooms were awesome with Memory Gel like mattresses. The sun room is amazing especially the massage chair. I fell asleep to a massage! Overall if you appreciate nature, peace & the outdoors then you will fall in love with this Gem!
We’re from Massachusetts and my wife surprised me and my two sons with a trip to Cali over winter break. We picked up my mom from Los Angeles and headed over for a stay. It was magical. Quiet and peaceful- we saw deer passing through during the day and stargazed at night. Beds were comfortable, home was clean and cozy and kitchen was perfect for our needs. The main town was about 20minutes aways where you can find grocery stores and restaurants. Highly recommend a visit if you’re in search for a beautiful zen break. Thank you for sharing your home, Robert!!
The beauty of Tehachapi is seen in every setting. The diversity of the area offers something for everyone, small town neighborhoods, mountains filled with oak and pine trees sheltering the most rustic to the most luxurious homes, sprawling ranches and everything in between, all beautifully displayed in the splendor of four wonderfully distinct seasons. We highly recommend visiting one of the many wineries or breweries, buy organic produce and free range eggs from the local farmers market. Visit the Glider Airport and see how NASA pilots would come and learn how to land the Space Shuttle - you can even co-pilot a glider if you wanted! Mountain bike or hike on the many trails in the Tehachapi Mountain Park and the Pacific Crest Trail. Walk to downtown to enjoy one of the abundant restaurants. The German Bakery and Native American BBQ are really worth a visit. So many things to do: Adorable Alpacas;
Historic Downtown Tehachapi Walking Tour;Mountain Spirit Center
Mountain Valley Airport;National Chavez Center; Tehachapi Depot Historical Museum ;Tehachapi Loop ( The best viewing locations are along Woodford-Tehachapi Road either southeast from Keene or northwest of Old Town Tehachapi.) ; Tehachapi Museum Tehachapi Wine & Cattle Company
Tomo-Kahni State Historic Park ;Tehachapi-Mojave Wind Resource Area
Triassic Legacy Vineyards & Tasting Room ;Woodward West Action Sports Camp
Also, depending on the season, you can catch other events including the Apple Festival, Oktoberfest, Beer and Wine Fest, Tehachapi Gran Fondo, Calgonquin Ultra race and PRCA Rodeo to name a few! This house is off grid at 5400 feet in Alpine forest 20 mins from Downtown Tehachapi. Very secluded and private. Lots of wildlife to see from birds to dear and bucks. You may see Bobcats and Black Bears too. And the condors come in seasonally. Mountain lions have been spotted as well so keep you eyes open and leash up your pets.
Alpine Forest has four seasons and we are on well maintained dirt roads. I drive my 328i BMW up here all the time without problems. But it does snow now and then in the winter so you may need chains or four wheel drive but we have a jeep truck and will get you safely up and down the mountain if needed.
