We used this as a central location for going to different sites of the central/western UP. Rapid River is a small town with a couple great restaurants and all you need to explore the area. Gregg was a friendly and great host, responsive when needed some tips for the area. The place is a little unique with beds/futons in the main living area and a separate bedroom upstairs reached via a spiral staircase, but plenty of space and they have a large porch and yard with firepit for guest use too. And very walkable area to the bay and places to eat.
