自我介绍

Hello We are the Downs Family. My brother Joe, his wife Lisa, children Kayla and Nick and myself (Kim) look forward to hosting you. My brother Joe and I were born and raised in the Hocking Hills. We are 5th generation owners of a farmhouse on almost 40 acres surrounded by Boch Hollow Stare Nature Preserve. Our great, great, great-grandfather was a drummer boy at the age of 12 in the Revolutionary War, and we believe the property was granted bounty-land rewarded for his service. Over the pandemic we spent time with the help of our parents, Bill and Betty Jo, renovating the home our mother grew up in. Joe is a semi-retired computer engineer, wife Lisa is a nurse anesthetist. I’m Kim, and I am a school counselor at the Logan Middle School. I reside in Nelsonville, Ohio which is about 15 miles away. I graduated from Ohio University which is only about 30 miles away. I’m very knowledgeable about the Hocking Hills and all of the unique places and activities it has to offer. We are all huge Ohio State fans, love sports, dogs, the outdoors and traveling. We are all fun and easy going and really love meeting new people. Our property is right up against Boch Hollow State Nature Preserve. Boch Hollow is one of the Hocking Hills hidden gems. You can actually walk to the trails in just a few minutes. You can sit on the front porch or sit outback and see all kinds of wildlife. We have even had fawns born in the front yard. We do offer hunting and ATV riding with an additional fee and signing of a waiver. We look forward to hosting you soon! Kim, Joe, Lisa, Kayla and Nick
