Hello and welcome~ My name is Elizabeth and my husband is Richard. We love the mountains, cabin life and being unplugged from the crazy of technology. I have been a life long road tripper, crossing and seeing this country many times with my family, visiting all but one state, Alaska, which is on my bucket list. I have enjoyed foreign travel as well, to New Zealand, Uganda and Kenya (ok, Canada too, once or twice). I am originally from the beautiful state of Colorado where I grew up camping in the high country listening to John Denver singing “Rocky Mt High” and “Almost Heaven West Virginia”. I never imagined growing up, I would come to live in WV ( just a few minutes’ walk from the Shenandoah River) much less own cabins and town property in the beautiful misty mountains of WV. My husband, Richard, was a resident of Elkins for 50 years. It has been a delight to learn that many of our guests, coming to visit family in the area, know Richard. Small world indeed. It was a distant desire of mine to own a BnB. And, since becoming a reality, it is work I have come to thoroughly enjoy and a pleasure to be host to many wonderful guests. My husband and I started with two cabins, which we sold in 2020 after his catastrophic accident in 2019. We currently have four rentals in Elkins ~ Tuck-Away, Orchard Nook, Orchard Nook 2 and our forth, Quiet Time on Main will be ready by mid to end of October. The small footprint of our homes allow us to provide our quests a quiet and relaxing atmosphere for their stay. We purchased a farmhouse/cabin in 2021 in Glady, Wv just a few miles from our first cabins. The Glady Glen Farmhouse is on pace to be finished in the spring of 2023 after extensive renovations are completed. We look forward to sharing the hills and country life of Glady, WV with our guests soon. Long range, we plan to list our home in Harpers Ferry in late 2023/early 2024 as we look to live part-time in the mid-west to be closer to family in that part of the country. We welcome the opportunity to be your hosts in the Wild and Wonderful state of West Virginia. Our homes are simple and yet fully prepared with towels, linens and a well supplied kitchen. So, bring your skis, hiking boots, fishing poles and bikes to enjoy the many sights, sounds, trails and attractions of the surrounding areas of Elkins. If your travels revolve around work, whether you maybe a traveling nurse or have the ability to be a remote worker, we welcome longer stays as well. All our homes have 100Mb internet service, which upon requests can be increased depending on length of stay. If you have special needs, please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions and/or requests and I will do my best to accommodate your needs. We simply ask that you please leave our home(s) as neatly as you found them when you arrived, respect the quiet peaceful nature of the community and enjoy your time disconnecting from modern society so you can reconnect with friends and family the old fashion way... face to face, making wonderful memories to last and share.
