We love Lake Junaluska! The view from the front porch is beautiful! The beds are very comfortable. We enjoyed the treats! Our Grandchildren had a great time and can’t wait to come back to the Lake Life house!

The house is adorable and very comfortable! Located right on the lake, the view couldnt be beat. Host was wonderful and even left a basket of snacks with a restaurant recommendation. We will definitely be coming back to Carolyns Lake Life house!
This is the eighth time I have stayed at one of Carolyn’s properties and my second time staying at the Lake Life house. The house is spotlessly clean, the beds are exceptionally comfortable, and the large picture window that looks out on the lake is the perfect place to sit each morning and enjoy the sunrise with a cup of coffee or tea! And when you want to get outside and get active, the lakeside trail is just steps away! I enjoy cooking when I’m on vacation, and the house is very well-stocked with everything that you might need to prepare meals—there’s even a Crockpot! Carolyn is always responsive and helpful if you are looking for local recommendations, and she provides many thoughtful details to welcome her guests—a basket of various snacks, a gift card to her favorite local restaurant, and even treats for your pup! I felt so at home here and can’t wait to come back!

Paradise for outdoor enthusiasts! Lake Junaluska is a 200 acre lake that is home to bald eagles, swans, Canadian geese & more. Year-round golf, tennis, fishing (NC fishing license required) and walking/biking on the 3.8 mile paved path around the lake. Seasonal pool, paddle board & kayak rentals, mini golf, and shuffleboard. Nestled between the Great Smoky Mountains and The Blue Ridge, we’re surrounded by amazing hiking trails and waterfalls.

- Parking available in driveway as well as the grass median directly across from the house. If you have multiple vehicles, you may also use the Lake Junaluska overflow parking lot just below the road.

I grew up in Murfreesboro, TN graduated from Middle TN State University and was a commercial lender for a bank for ten years. In 1989 I married my husband Van and moved to Dallas. Van is a native Texan, born in Dallas. He spent some of his formative years in Oklahoma and thus is a die-hard Sooner fan! He attended Midwestern University before enlisting in the Navy in 1969. We've enjoyed being self-employed all our married life which has given us great flexibility and allowed us to move to NC before fully retiring. I loved my years in Texas...there's truly no place like it, and it does "get in your blood". It's just so dang hot! In 2017 we followed through on a dream we've had for 20+ years. We packed it up and moved to the mountains of beautiful Western North Carolina! Call us crazy, but remodeling homes is a hobby for us. We've renovated 8 homes top to bottom since we've been married. Our vacation rental properties are among those projects. I love to dance, laugh out loud and I whistle a lot! I've been told I shouldn't sing along to the radio, but I do it anyway! I believe what comes around, goes around, and that we should all live, and let live. We both enjoy gardening, movies and playing with our beloved pets. We treasure spending time with our fabulous adult children and their spouses and love hosting happy hour with friends on our deck! Van loves firing up his Texas sized smoker and cooking for a crowd. We love Tex-Mex, sushi, walking around the lake and visiting historical places. I love soul music, Van's a Beatles fan, and we both love meeting new people so Airbnb is a natural for us!
