If there were more stars , I would have checked them off! A month of exploring & discovering Escondido living & loving local while staying at Casa Cactus was more than I could have asked for because of renting a studio from Ellie & Janel Clean, well maintained & appointed, amazing location, comfortable bed with great sheets, perfect water pressure, welcoming cool vibe day and night and for a solo female traveller, you can sleep with both eyes shut feeling safe ( and you can hear the waves too). Without question, the pool is a feature not to be taken for granted. Its hot there ( and I love the sun) & the pool was a blessing every day whether to hang out all day or dip at the end of the day AND there is no way you can leave without falling in love with Lavender Brown & Amor and perhaps maybe a kitten that appears on the property :-) Thank you for making my first and not my last visit very special Continue to bring joy & laughter to your guests!

Wir waren zu zweit sieben Wochen in Ellie’s Wohnung. Es sind zwei weitere Airbnbs nebenan. Alle werden in der Regel an Langzeitgäste vermietet, was super ist :) Es gibt zwei sehr freundliche und zutrauliche Hunde. Generell hat uns die Lage besonders gut gefallen, fußlaufig zu großem Supermarkt und auf dem Weg dorthin liegt direkt ein super Coworking Space im Hotel Pagos. Die Wohnung entspricht den Bildern, ist sauber und sicher. Schade fanden wir den dauerhaften Baulärm auf dem Nachbarsgrundstück; aber das sollte ja bald erledigt sein. Ebenso erwähnenswert: unter dem Dach der Küche und der Couchecke staut sich die Hitze leider sehr, was die Bereich tagsüber selbst mit Ventilator kaum benutzbar machte. Die Klimaanlage im Zimmer funktioniert aber einwandfrei, ist geruchsneutral und hat für 7 Wochen knapp 50$ Strom verbraucht. Das ist sehr gut 👍🏼

This was my first long term stay at a bnb, and Ellie made it feel like my home immediately! The home was very clean, the AC worked like a charm, there's on-sight laundry, the home is gated and secure.. only great things to say. Thank you so much, Ellie, for making me so comfortable.

We had a wonderful stay at Ellie’s place… the apartment and the beautiful pool exceeded our expectations! We were there 6 weeks and enjoyed every minute of it. The grocery store was just a 5 minute walk down the street and had everything we needed. Many beautiful beaches all in walking distance if you like walking and don’t mind a few hills. If not it’s only 50 pesos to go anywhere around town . Lots of great restaurants nearby. Both Ellie and her wife Janel were really lovely and very approachable, got back to us almost immediately with any questions we had. We also enjoyed spending time with them very much. There’s only 3 apartments and Ellie and Janel also live on the property along with there adorable little dog Lavender Brown whom was just a real character and a real delight and would visit us often. Absolutely loved our visit and we will definitely return.

Super logement, très propre, on se sent comme chez nous très vite ! La piscine est magnifique également et Ellie est toujours super disponible :) Le logement est situé dans la partie moins touristiques et plus local, c'était très chouette de pouvoir découvrir ce quartier. Il faut prendre une petit taxi ou collectivo pour se déplacer dans les autres quartiers un peu plus touristiques. Il faut aussi noter qu'il y a beaucoup de bruits (en général au Mexique) mais encore plus dans le centre mais ça fait partie du charme de la ville. Merci Ellie !
