Some places you might want to consider to see:
1. CN Tower.
Its a nice place to visit once, for the experience. There is a rotating restaurant with 360 degree view of Toronto and a glass floor. You can walk and jump on it if you brave enough :)
2. CasaLoma.
Its a nice old castle that was turned into a museum. They have different fun workshops (tickets should be bought ahead of time for the workshops) and a self guided tour. Very beautiful castle.
3. Niagara falls.
You can take a bus or a train from the Union station if you are not here by car.
Travel time is around 2 hours.
4. Toronto Islands is a nice place to visit in my opinion.
To get there you have to go south of Union subway station to lakeshore. From there there is a ferry that goes to Toronto islands approximately every 30 minutes. The middle island is the most popular, there are different beaches, little zoo, you can do kayaking (weather permitting) and can also rent a bicycle. If you decide to explore everything its alot of walking.
5. To get groceries there is a nice store 1 min walk from the apartment, called CityMarket. When you walk out of the door, turn right and it will be on the right hand side in a minute.

7. Right beside it, there is a place called RaviSoups.
Love this place as they make amazing wraps.
8. High Park.
It's a nice park with a zoo. Its free of charge too.
9. If you enjoy steaks there is a Keg Steakhouse 10 min walking distance. Love Keg.

10. Distillery district.
Nice old historic area with a bunch of 19th century buildings, boutiques, galleries and cafes.
Opens 10 am to 6 pm.
