Chuparosa is a stunning, custom-built home in the heart of the mountains. My stay was heavenly -- all that was promised and more. I saw so many birds to add to my Life List, some from the front patio! Luis is a superb host, very helpful and responsive. As suggested, I bought my food ahead of time at the Green Valley Safeway, and it made all the difference to me to be able to settle in and not come out of the canyon for three days. This is a home that is well-loved, and you can tell! The feeling there is very special.

We came for my wife’s birthday especially to view the Elegant Trogon reported in the area and were not disappointed. A Trogon literally flew over us on the creekside patio on its way upstream for its dinner. Our host and his family were welcoming and very knowledgeable about the area. The unit is secluded, romantic and comfortable. We look forward to coming back.

We were happy to return for another stay. The room and bath are comfortable and well maintained. The kitchenette and bath are clean and the listed supplies are there. Everything from glasses to linens are well chosen. The inn itself is a wonderful location a short walk up to the entrance to Madera Canyon trails and the creek runs behind the property. The garden, feeders and stone patios complete the scene. We were warmly greeted by Nancy and Luis and they asked for feedback if everything was good for us. This place is a gem in the Sky Islands.

I would definitely stay there again! Many trails are close enough to walk to. The area around the inn has many birds. The suite we had was very clean. Luis gave us many suggestions for where to go and was happy to answer any questions. Very knowledgeable about the birds and was fun to talk with. Truly a lovely stay all around.Highly recommend!
