This property is an old office block converted into apartments and still feels very much like so, unfortunately. It's situated on an industrial estate so your views out the window are of concrete car parks which were fine for me as I wasn't there for the scenery. There are no local shops within reasonable safe walking distance (for a lady on their own) or anywhere to buy amenities from close by so if staying here take everything you need with you or stop off somewhere on the way. This wasn't helped by the apartment being so sparse, not even so much as some salt and pepper or a tea towel in the kitchen It was like I was the first-ever resident. The apartment is Deluxe in its size and it's nice and freshly decorated it has a stunning glass window and ceiling feature in the living space but that's where it stops, it's clearly not lived in and only ever used as a rental apartment. The interior of the apartment is a gorgeous space but the place felt very sterile and unloved not like any other Airbnb I've ever stayed in previously. It needs many personal touches to make it feel welcoming and friendly. On arrival, there was very little toilet paper in the bathroom about 5 squares left on the roll (none anywhere else) and what looked like urine in an unflushed toilet pan. I called the emergency number and the person answering wasn't much help so I messaged the host via the website and he did deliver me 4 toilet rolls personally and assured me his cleaner told him the yellow liquid in the pan was actually bleach and not pee!!! I stayed last weekend of November and when I arrived, the apartment was absolutely freezing! As check out is 11 am and check-in for new tenants is from 2 pm it would have been a nice touch in the winter for the cleaner to have left the heating on so the place was warm on arrival. I put the heating on immediately and after quite some time the bedroom, hallway and bathroom eventually heated up but the living room never did, the one radiator in the living area is not enough to heat the huge space with all that glass, it was so cold in there at one point I could see my own breath and I felt pretty miserable. The bedroom was now warm but there's no TV in there (only the living room) so I had to sit and watch TV and be cold or sit in the bedroom warm but bored. I did mention this to the host the following morning and they brought over an electric heater that definitely helped but still wasn't quite enough - Lucky for me I only spent two November nights in there and was out the whole 2nd day. The host was very helpful and responsive to my needs and requests but if more attention was given to the property in the first place all this would hassle and effort would have been avoided for us both. The bed in the bedroom was actually super comfy but if you need complete darkness to sleep then I suggest taking an eyeshade especially if you plan on using the living room as a bedroom as there are no curtains on the glass ceiling windows! Shower and water pressure were great lots of hot water too. What it really needs: To make it a Delux apartment it needs: Another TV for the bedroom especially if you are using the living space as a second bedroom (as it is advertised to sleep 4 guests) It needs extra amenities in the bathroom more than just hand soap for a start, somewhere for a washbag to be hung or somewhere for toiletries to sit would be better than the toilet system or floor next to the toilet which was my only option. Some extra bedding or blankets so you can get cosy in the living room without having to drag the duvet from the bedroom. A few condiments (at least salt and pepper) and a tea towel or two in the kitchen wouldn't go a miss. The space could be so wonderful but it needs a lot of TLC and attention to make it feel like a home away from home.
