Whether you're a hiker, mountain biker or cross-country skier, the Rolling Huts, located in Washington's Methow Valley, are the perfect accommodation. Designed as a modern alternative to camping by Tom Kundig of Olson Kundig Architects in Seattle, the six huts are grouped as a herd, each with views of the mountains. Important Information About the Rolling Huts: 1. The double bed in the back room is furnished with a memory foam pad covered with a sheet and European coverlet. The coverlet is changed out and laundered after each visit. We also provide pillows and pillow cases. There is a single bed which can be arranged by adjusting the furniture. There are also three extra foam camp mats to use for extra padding or seat cushions. For use of these you will need to bring your own sleeping bag or blankets. 2. We provide each hut with towels and wash cloths. There are hot showers located in the big barn which is within walking distance to the huts. 3. The hut kitchens are minimally supplied with dishes, cups, and utensils. We also provide supplies for washing your dishes which should be done upon your departure. There is no sink in the hut but there are water spigots outside each hut. 4. There is a small fridge, a microwave, a coffee maker, and an electric tea kettle in each hut. There is no stove top but you are welcome to bring one. We do provide a community barbecue with one gas grill and two wood/charcoal grills. If you would like to use these, you will need to bring your own charcoal and knives. 5. We provide firewood and matches for the indoor fireplace. We do not provide paper or firestarters, and you will need to chop your own kindling. 6. There is free WiFi on site, although it is inconsistent at the huts due to distance from the server. Connection is best at the restaurant.WiFi: WesolaPolana Pass: guestaccess CELL SERVICE MAY OR MAY NOT WORK DEPENDING ON YOUR CARRIER. IF YOU HAVE AN EMERGENCY, THERE IS A PHONE ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE RESTAURANT NEAR THE FRONT ENTRANCE. We hope you will feel free to make yourself welcome at The Rolling Huts. Upon arrival, please read the checklist in your hut so you are familiar with instructions and information. If you have any further questions, please feel free to respond to this email or call the office
We had a great stay. Loved the wood stove especially and the place stayed warm enough throughout the night. It’s a small space. The modular squares sleep one realistically. Our second daughter slept comfortably on a camping mat we brought. The queen bed was comfy. Very soft. My wife, who prefers a firm mattress, found it surprisingly comfortable. The deck is nice. We cooked eggs and sausage on our camp stove one morning. Trader Joe’s is a good option for microwave eating for dinners. The pizza place on property was disappointing FYI. Good selection of German beer though and cool ambiance. Location to skiing and the river was great. Easy drive to Mazama. Sauna was hot!!
Easy to find, cozy space, and responsive host! Got to eat at the pizza place and it was wonderful as well!
This was as advertised...I was a bit surprised at a couple things...for example, there is a coffed pot, but no coffee. There was no fresh water, but not even one bottle of water (it was some 200 feet away). Would have been nice to have these simple, inexpensive amenities. In fairness, it was as advertised, but I was just surprised that these were not simply "there."
