Among several other things, Dr. Keith is a semi-retired Professor of Human Communication; Building Contractor and Designer; Vacation Property manager & "Concierge"; and avid life-long Waterman, and Susan is the perfect compliment, enjoying the Water, Travel, Nature and gardening. We enjoy travel, entertaining, meeting people, and because of this became involved with AIRBNB July 2012. It has been a wonderful experience. We have enjoyed the company and experience brought by every guest [Hosting over 1000 parties] who have stayed at our home (many of which have already returned, and others plan to). You might begin your stay as a guest, but we shall part as friends! We absolutely love Florida and the water! Dr. Keith grew up surfing, sailing and SCUBA diving in Southern California. He spent some time living in Hawai'i studying with Kahunas, and relocated to Florida for the weather, water, and lifestyle. When not home in FLA we travel "Down-Island" and visit a variety of dive destinations (sometimes via cruise ship). When at home in FL we spend a great deal of time outdoors and often on a boat. We enjoy food...dining-out or cooking at home with friends. Generally living an active and healthy lifestyle. We enjoy a wide range of music, and often have something playing in the background. Because we are outdoorsy, we are also a morning people, and generally back in bed by 10 or 11 (unless something interesting is going on). Part of the design of our Fort Meyers home allows people on different schedules to co-exist without adversely affecting one another. You have to put a real effort into having someone on the other side of the house hear you if the doors are closed. In our Fort Myere home we offer a Private Guest Suite, with its own private entrance as well as mini-refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and "closet" kitchenette of sorts with cups, plates, and flatware. Linens are provided. Your Suite has a Queen size bed, ceiling fan and light, Flat Panel ROKU TV, WI-FI Air Conditionong and a large mirror covered closet with dresser. We are in the Tropics, and use air-conditioning more to control HUMMIDITY Than temperature. It is a different lifestyle, and we remain comfortable under ceiling fans. The entire home has central air conditioning, but we never lower it below 77 (and seldom to that). However much of the year it is seldom necessary. But if your preference is a 70-72 degree house, you will not find it here with us. Airbnb has been a nice way to meet new people and share our love and knowledge of the area with people, while allowing them the opportunity to travel and visit this area at an affordable rate. We can be as "invisible" or present as guests may like (schedules permitting). While we genuinely love people, we don't feel a full-time roommate would be a good fit for us, so Airbnb allows us to share our wonderful home occasionally, yet afford us our own privacy the remainder of the time. We are grateful for you [our Guests] for allowing us to live-in and maintain your vacation home here in Florida. You no doubt noticed our mention of wheelchair accessibility. Dr. Keith is in a wheelchair from an accident at the beach in 1983. Some of Dr. Keith's other activities include being a former college speech professor in CA and currently a FL building contractor.
