We had such a wonderful stay! Joshua was incredibly responsive and laid out clear instructions for us as we arrived. The cabin itself is well designed and offered a peaceful retreat from the city. Make sure to pack lots of water, as while there is running water, it is not drinkable. Also, don't forget the bug spray! We appreciated the lack of service and options of two camp fires (one at the top near the cabin and one down by the lake). Overall, a wonderful experience. Thank you!

We had a great time. The off-grid cabin was tastefully decorated and had all the amenities we needed. The wood burning fireplace was a highlight for me. Also loved the double wall stainless steel french press coffee maker. The cliff-top view and privacy was an energy boost. Took a walk on the trails and paddle in the canoe. Loved all the tamarack trees around the lake. Would love to return again.

This a truly OFF grid accommodation with absolutely breathtaking view. we spent lovely evenings playing board games and cards. it is 1/2h driving from Algonquin park, fantastic venue to hike and make great souvenirs. Joshua is a great host, he cares that you get all the information you need before getting to the cabin. You may need a AWD car if the weather is wet to drive the last 600-800m

It is first time staying at the place. I saw couple reviews they visited the place again and again. I did not know the reason before I get here. The place is absolutely good but Doreen and Gary are the best. They are super kind and nice. I told them my parents are visiting me fromn Korea. Doreen explained everything to me and my parents. I got so touched because when Doreen’s talking to my parents she tried to use very simple words to explain well because I told her they can barely speak English. That time I thought I will have to visit here again when I come to Algonquin because of these people. Also, if someone likes fishing, you will love this place. Pike fishing was crazy here. I can’t wait until next time.

Although the WiFi was only available in the main house (which is 5 minutes walk to the off-grid cottage). The cottage itself is super clean, and has stunning views. Doreen "the property manager" is super helpful and was willing to provide us with everything we need. The lake has a canoe, picnic table and fireplace. I had memorable times with my family there. Definitely recommend to anyone who wants to escape away from big cities.
