The location and size of the cottage was ideal for our short stay and it had some really charming elements. The surrounding village is stunning with lots of great amenities so it's a good base. But I do think there are improvements that need to be made. The property smells quite strongly of damp throughout and it's the first thing you notice when you come in. There is clearly a problem and this is evident by all the moisture catchers around the property. Additionally, whenever one of us used the shower water poured through the ceiling into the kitchen below (there are instructions on how to use the shower in the bathroom which we adhered to). It would have also been a nice touch to have some basics like milk, tea & coffee and shower gel. Lastly, communication could have been better as I requested whether a late check out was possible but never got a response. I think it's a really charming property though and would recommend it in general, just a few small things to tweak.

Perfect cottage. Very clean and well furnished with everything we needed for our stay. Peaceful, quiet. Ideal for exploring Somerset and enjoying Castle Cary. Wonderful stay. Thank you.

Plum Cottage was the sweetest place to stay for my solo adventure! I felt very safe and comfortable in the cosy cottage, was like home from home. Castle Cary was a lovely little peaceful village
