The Shire was a great place to return to between family events. I was studying all weekend & the peaceful location was amazing for some stress relief! Kelli was very responsive & helpful when needed. The place was spacious and offered everything you could need for a weekend. I definitely recommend it if you're in the IC area & need a spacious relaxing place to stay.

Kelli was a great host — very proactive and responsive. The basement apartment was spacious, updated, and clean. It was nicer than what I anticipated from the photos, with the best part being the deck looking out into the wooded yard. It was the perfect place to sit in the morning with a book. The unexpected con was the noise. Kelli has several young children who, while very sweet when we crossed paths in the front yard, did make quite a bit of noise. The unhappy bedtime routine noises and 7:30 am wake up of small feet running overhead didn’t make for the most ideal vacation relaxation.
