Such a lovely peaceful location for us nature lovers. Right on the lake with a gorgeous view out the front door and windows, and literally the most stars I have seen in my life in the night sky because of how little light pollution there is. The lodge had everything we needed for a home base as we explored the UP. This spot is close enough to pictured rocks (just under an hour) and an easy to drive to a few other spots we wanted to check out (and not too far from the Mackinac Bridge either). Would definitely recommend!

The location of Sunset Pines resort is amazing for experiencing a quiet getaway with most of the attractions in eastern UP of MI within quick driving range. Morgan is a really great host. The place was exactly as described with all the amenities. We enjoyed the camp fire and pool in the game room. Morgan & Coltan responded within minutes for any help requested during the stay and even went out of their way to provide camp-fire supplies. We were group of 5 friends on a re-union road-trip - 3 coming from different states in the US and 2 from Europe- and this place was perfect for our long weekend vacation to rejuvenate our friendships with some digital detox - thanks to the patchy Wi-Fi connectivity :P Would definitely recommend!
