A hidden, peaceful gem, just as described, with a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere and friendly hosts. The cabin is light, airy and practical without unnecessary frills, looking out on to the garden and views over Hastings. The West Hill and Old Town are just a stroll away. We were visiting family for a birthday celebration and invited them for The Beacon’s yummy Sunday lunch. They coped with a gang of us, including kids and toddlers , efficiently - the relaxed atmosphere allowed everyone to enjoy themselves. Plus the kids loved playing in the garden. And of course they all went home and we retreated to our lovely cabin with peace and quiet! The feeling of the place is family run, arty, slightly quirky and comfortable. You won’t find a TV or dishwasher but will rediscover the delights of Scrabble! Do follow Mae’s instructions when visiting for the first time, it would be tricky to find without them. Would definitely go back. Thanks Mae and Judy.

It would be good if there could be a microwave and a radio. The shower was great, but instructions about how to use it would have been useful.

Just what we needed for a well overdue break from our busy lives in London. Wonderful quiet cabin with everything you need. Loved the wood burner too, luckily it was just cold enough to put it on. We did turn off the radiators to make sure we could get good use out of it! :). Very cosy with everything you need. Highly recommend if you want to relax.. it rained most of our time there but didn’t spoil the stay at all as we like to walk whatever the weather. Highly recommend the pizza place at the bottom of the hill - and the local Sussex larger. Thanks to Judy for being very hospitable and bringing extra logs of wood!
