We found this lovely cottage whilst searching for accommodation for a short stay around a family wedding at Doddington - the location is perfect for both the church and the coachhouse, where the reception was held. Worth noting that a straight-line walk from the Bungalow is not possible due to other properties in the grounds. The location is idyllic - we looked out, and sat out, over the grounds, with a large duck pond just 100m away. The farm shop and two coffee shops (we preferred the more informal one within the bike shop) were perfect for our needs - the shop has an amazing range of ‘Cook’ frozen meals. The bungalow has lots of space for four with separate lounge and kitchen/dining areas (maybe getting four round the TV in the lounge would be a squeeze). The beds were incredibly comfortable. Overall, the bungalow was so well appointed - a great range of equipment and crockery in the kitchen. Everything was so clean and of high quality. I understand it was recently converted from staff accommodation and completely done up to a high standard. Our arrival coincided with an autumnal reduction in temperatures - the main central heating boiler that fed all the cottages had very recently been switched on. However, the central heating failed to ‘kick in’ as expected. On site support staff were incredibly helpful and the problem was diagnosed and solved within half an hour. The dedicated WiFi was fast and effective. Overall, we had a great stay and I even enjoyed a run round the estate before the wedding. Highly recommended!
