we loved Martha's Place and would absolutely stay again! the AC worked great and it was very walkable to different tour pickup locations and restaurants!

Our stay at Martha’s was great! We felt right at home from the moment we arrived. All staff were helpful and friendly. We especially appreciated how Martha and her team arranged our activities with an excellent operator and guides to a variety of locations. Additionally we enjoyed the guesthouse restaurant and the convenience of the in-house laundromat.

We were new to San Ignacio and Belize overall - staying at Martha's was fantastic, as it's near the town center, bus station, market, tourist offices, restaurants, etc, so you can walk or get a taxi easily for all town locations. Excellent room; not huge, but perfect, great hot shower, A/C, nice balcony to sit out on and listen to the sounds of the late afternoon/evening. They have a great breakfast / lunch kitchen (opens at 6a, closes in the afternoon) - great food and lovely dining space. Hosts Martha and receptionist Stacey were absolutely fabulous. I give them 10 out of 5 stars!

The hotel itself was very nice. The people in San Ignacio are wonderful. Everyone is really nice and it feel safe at night. The hotel is located right downtown on a main street which is good and bad. There is a grocery directly across the street and a short walk to shops, food, ice cream etc. There was quite a bit of traffic noise which did quite down after 10ish but started back about 6am. There was also a dog living kitty-corner to the hotel that was on a 3-foot chain and bored, so it barked a lot and all night. We had the room #1 on the end nearest to the deck which was nice to enter and exit easily but probably the nosiest due to location. There was also I high window that did not have a curtain which made the room very light in the morning.

Martha’s was right in the middle of the action of San Ignacio! We walked to Pops, Ervas, and our absolute favorite restaurant - Ko-Ox Han Nah (Let's Go Eat) within a few minutes. Easily walked to the Saturday market as well. The street noise and dogs nearby were easily blocked with headphones or earplugs. The location and free parking made it accessible and convenient! Highly recommend it for the value!!
