This lush tropical setting on a hillside along the Macal River gives the Resort its unique feature of providing luxury at “the only jungle in town.” Just a short walk puts you in downtown San Ignacio where the culture and lifestyle of the people abound or in the middle of one of Belize’s ancient Maya temples known as Cahal Pech.
Good alternative if main rooms at the San Ignacio Resort Hotel are not available. Staff very friendly and helpful. On premise restaurant is excellent.
We absolutely loved our stay at the SI Resort! It was the perfect balance of affordability and amenities. The staff we incredible! They set up a sweet welcome towel arrangement for my birthday, which I was celebrating with my 2 friends. It was so thoughtful! I was speechless! Additionally, the location was great. We would walk down into town for dinner and back up again. The hill is not too bad and is great for an after dinner walk. We loved our stay and would absolutely stay there again. Thank you for such a great stay!! The room is small but my group didn’t mind. The beds were a bit hard but nothing that ruined our trip.
Romario was one of the friendliest people we met on our time in Belize. The entire staff was very helpful and full of great personality he really did stand out. The concierge was also really really helpful and we could attribute a lot of the success of our stay in San Ignacio and Tikal, Guatemala to him. I would be happy to book this place again any time.
A cute hotel/resort perched right above the center of town. Had a nice pool, restaurant, and Iguana tour in sight. Really nice place to stay and seemed more upscale than others I walked by in turn for sure.
The resort was a great and everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. Their communication was top notch from the moment you book your room. They responded to emails almost immediately and setting up transport or excursions was seamless. The pool was amazing with plenty of room to relax around it. The food was delicious and the jungle view was absolutely beautiful. The one and only negative was that it’s on the top of a very steep hill. I read that it’s on a hill in reviews before I came, but did not realize how steep it is. My husband and I are active and it was still a bit of a deterrent to just popping into town for a quick snack or to look around. If you have any mobility issues, you will likely need to drive or take a taxi. Still absolutely worth the stay, but something to make note of for sure.
Approx. 5 minutes walk from down town, the San Ignacio Resort is a boutique hotel which brings together contemporary style, comfort and a scenic location in central San Ignacio. The property benefits from a refreshing outdoor swimming pool, award-winning restaurant and the highly regarded Green Iguana Conservation Project. Victor Galves Stadium is a six-minute stroll from the hotel, while the highly regarded Cahal Pech Archaeological Reserve is 13 minutes away on foot. Xunantunich Mayan Ruins is a 12-kilometre journey.
