Luna Africana was a fantastic place for my family and I. We stayed with a toddler, teenager, me, my wife, and my mother in law (5 total people) and stayed six nights. The pool was exceptional, with the main large pool and two more shallow, smaller pools for little ones. The place itself was spacious and the rooms had cold air conditioning. The kitchen had everything we needed as we cooked everyday breakfast and dinner. The place is a leisurely 5 min walk to playa negra and about a 5 min drive to Puerto Viejo center. The host was exceptionally communicative throughout our stay, and was able to provide helpful suggestions and answered all our questions quickly. We certainly recommend Luna Africana and would stay here again in the future!

Great airbnb to enjoy Playa Negra. it's very close to a small market and to a bike rental, which you can use to get to Puerto Viejo. Otherwise, you can travel by car to many beautiful beaches. The host, Denver, was very responsive and fast to help. The pool was always clean and nice. We enjoyed using it to chill after a day of traveling around.
