I've stayed at Las Amapolas a few years back and in 2024. This bedroom was exactly as expected. There are sporadic island-wide power outages. The room is about 23 minutes from the city and beach via golf cart. This is a perfect spot to get away and relax. During both visits I spent hours on the pier reading and watching the sun go down. It's typically really quiet outside of a rooster crowing and dog barking. Everyone is super kind.

Captain Robby’s family is super friendly and welcoming. The location for us was ideal! 30 min from San Pedro and right on a beautiful beach. The dock right next to the restaurant is super nice and has fish swimming around. However, I would only recommend this place if you are staying a night or 2. The place is small (as shown) with no kitchen supplies. You’ll have to go out to eat for every meal. The restaurant next to the airbnb has good food and drinks. We did the fishing/snorkeling trip with Thomas which was fun ($280 for a half day). We caught jacks and snappers. The snorkeling was super cool and better than any tour you’ll go on. The restaurant cooked the fish for us for $20 BZ and the fish was fantastic!

Loved being at Captain Robbie’s! The space was beautiful, quiet and way off the beaten track. You have the beach to yourself with the exception of maybe 1-2 other couples. The owners were super friendly and communicative. They were helpful before the trip with logistics and in helping us get a golf cart ($55 US /day) with Joey’s Rentals. Awesome connection! Joey met us at the port, took us around to buy snacks and stuff for the space and delivered us to the space. Things to consider: San Pedro is expensive. Expect to pay US prices for most items. There are restaurants near the space but they are hotels. The one exception is Estela’s (pink building off the road) which is delicious local food and has true Belizean prices. Any other option is in town. So, a golf cart is a must! Town is 5 miles away and walking during the day is brutal. We are a pretty active couple and the heat was rough. Ps taxis in and out of the space are about $50 US one way. Plan accordingly.
