A very peaceful property, nice & quaint. My hiking group enjoyed it.
Great house in an absolutely gorgeous setting. Well off the beaten path, in the best way. Daryl was proactive and helpful, very easy to work with.
Peaceful surroundings and wonderful porch to relax and take in the views. The house was modern & cozy. The extra water provided was crucial. Daryl was very responsive when the air conditioning unit was broken in the twin bed room. He provided us a partial refund which we felt was pretty fair. The hot & stuffy room was uncomfortable so we slept in the living room of on sofa bed (uncomfortable). WARNING: ROADS TO CABIN DRIVEWAY ARE NOT WELL MAINTAINED (our Chevy Truck bottomed out several times). Mattresses comfortable in both rooms but the twin bed frames squeaked and were rocky. Did not use the back screened in porch at all -it was very dirty & dusty with lots of bugs trapped in (the front porch definitely made up for it and we spent most of our time out there) DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FIND THIS PLACE IN THE DARK -we got lost for about 20 min trying to find the drive way. Leave porch lights on if you plan to arrive at night. Other than issues stated it was a serene escape.
This is a spectacular home. Super comfortable for two couples (and a dog), with fantastic kitchen utensils and amenities. Thoughtful touches were appreciated and communication was outstanding. The location is incredible for peace, privacy and open space. We saw coyote from the porch, and loved the stars. It is important to note that the drive out to the home is gravel and bumpy, and a 1hr30 min drive to Chisos Basin in Big Bend National Park. Compact SUV or more recommended. It is necessary to bring all your food with as shopping is extremely limited in the area and be prepared with your gas - we saw another visitor who ran out of gas on the road! All this is explicitly explained in Daryl’s amazing information packet. We regretted not staying longer, and would recommend this in a heartbeat.
It’s incredible what they were able to pull off so far out there! We loved our stay. Enjoying the view of the mountains and the changing colors of the sky and the stars right on the porch was a highlight.
