My wife and I wanted a relaxing weekend away and this was our first B&B experience so we weren't sure what to expect. Our hosts Chris and Kathy met us on the porch when we arrived and made us feel right at home immediately. The house is beautiful and has a very positive energy about it. We wanted for nothing our entire stay thanks to our wonderful hosts. Each of them made breakfast on different days and it was all amazing! The pineapple pancakes were the best we've ever had and they spoiled us with desert as well. The house was very roomy and comfortable. The bed was spacious and comfortable as well. I haven't slept that soundly in a long time. After just meeting our hosts we felt as though we were with family and they made our stay unforgettable. I would highly recommend staying here! We can't wait to go back!

Highly recommended! Don’t get me wrong, the house is fantastic, but the most precious thing about this AirBnB is Kat and Chris. This was our first bed and breakfast experience, so naturally we were skeptical about the amount of privacy and space available, especially traveling with a baby. Our concerns quickly dissipated once we got there because it felt like you were staying at your grandparent’s house. They give you the warmth and comfort that no other stay could match! We Love this place and would definitely return for their hospitality and great location!

“Friendly Folks Farmhouse” is so accurate a description of this colonial homestead. Both Kathy and Don are gracious, social, hospitable hosts. If you desire a comfortable, homey stay amongst antiques/collectibles, with delicious and hearty breakfasts, this place is for you. We look forward to another visit to Roanoke and Friendly Folks!

I decided to stop off at Chris and Cathy's place on my trip back home from Maryland just for the night. Like the description says, I had my pick of two rooms. The peach room has a smaller bed and is closer to the road. The green room had a queen bed and is in the back. I chose the peach room because I need the road noise to sleep when I'm in a new place. It was a large, lovely room. The bathroom is a few steps away outside of the room and was very clean with any kind of toiletry you might have forgotten. The breakfast the next morning was amazing. Cathy made cinnamon french toast, which I devoured. I did not get a chance to really appreciate the land that they own because I was anxious to finish my ride home. They were a lovely couple who had a lot of stories to tell and even met me outside to welcome me. The neighborhood felt safe and the house was beautiful.

A lovely home hosted by lovely people. Don and Kat have a beautiful period house from the late 1800s. It’s tastefully decorated with antiques and artwork. We were greeted warmly and treated to a delicious breakfast and great conversation. Staying with Don and Kat was a highlight of our Blue Ridge Parkway trip.
