帕霍阿 · 整套乡村小屋 · 2室2床2.5卫 · 可住4人 · Big Island Tree House
This area of the Big Island is wild and magical. When you drive down the Red Road on the coast you feel like you've entered another dimension as you cruz through a tunnel of jungle trees, woop de doo roads, and lava fields. This is an ideal spot for couples in search of romantic, tropical seclusion or friends or individuals desiring a self guided retreat or a home away from home from which to work remotely. If interested in a longer booking (over 2 weeks), please send us a personal inquiry. The cottage is simple, beautiful and cozy and sits on a half acre along the historic "Red Road" that runs along the ocean. One of the great aspects of this property is that it allows the opportunity to experience true off-grid living without sacrificing any of the comforts. The house is set up like a duplex, there is one bedroom upstairs with the kitchen and living room + there is a private second bedroom downstairs with a separate entrance, indoor bathroom, outdoor shower and sitting room. You'll hear the waves crashing and at night and coqui frogs singing. There is no light pollution in Hawaii so the stars are as bright as can be. The natural environment encourages getting in tune with your circadian rhythms. The property has avocados, bananas, starfruit and a number of other fruit trees on the grounds that you’re free to help yourself to. There is a dreamy, secluded beach for sunning and swimming that is just down the road and makes for a lovely walk —little less than half a mile. In the other direction just a few steps aware are a number of beautiful lookouts and beaches where we often go to watch the sunset. Kehena Beach and the Pohoiki hot ponds are just down the road as well. * Although the property is fully off-grid you won't have to sacrifice ease or comfort: -All the water comes from the rain and is filtered with charcoal and ultraviolet light. There is also a Big Berkey for increased filtration drinking water. -We just updated the solar system and you'll have no problem using and charging laptops or phones or connecting to the internet. -The internet (satellite WIFI) works well if you need to catch up on work remotely or sign onto a Zoom session. -AT&T Cel Service works well in this area (not sure for Verizon) -There is now a washing machine and dryer available to use in the morning/afternoon when it's sunny. :) * The Tree House is a mile from Kalani, which hosts yoga and other healing arts and cultural classes and a small shop with ice cream, snacks and local creations. Uncle Roberts is about a 10 minute drive down the road in Kalapana. They have local Hawaiian music and food Wednesday evening and a wonderful farmers market Saturday mornings. Hawaiian Sanctuary is up the hill, about a 15 minute drive and they host permaculture and various cultural and healing arts classes as well as Ecstatic Dance Friday evenings and Sunday mornings. Sunday afternoon/evening there is a community gathering on 'the Lawn' in nearby Sea View (little over a mile away) where there is drumming and local food vendors. The Tree House is about 7 miles from downtown Pahoa, 30 miles from Hilo and 40 miles from Volcanos National Park. Pahoa is the closest place for restaurants and grocery stores. When you book we’ll email you a guide with locations and hours of our favorite local restaurants and grocery stores. Here is a more comprehensive list of amenities and features that will be available for you: -King Bed upstairs (Full downstairs) -Closet Space & Hangers -Indoor bathroom with hot Shower (no bathtub) -Outdoor Shower -Second bathroom downstairs -Shampoo & Conditioner -Clean Towels -Kitchen with Propane Stove & Fridge -Chemex Coffee Maker -Beach Blankets -A selection of Books -Animal Medicine Cards & Oracle Decks -Bluetooth Speaker -Parking inside the gated property -WIFI -TV with Roku + free Amazon Prime & Gaia -Laundry
Heather was an extremely accommodating host with quick & friendly communication. The home its self is beautiful, abundant with fruit trees & greenery, and a short distance to the ocean. A true rainforest tree house, I would highly recommend staying in this magical home. Very peaceful & very relaxing. I cant thank Heather enough for welcoming us in to her home.
We are so grateful to have stayed a second time at Heather’s magical treehouse! A beautiful, spiritual get away, home away from home! We love staying off the grid, hearing the frogs, birds and even the ocean. Heather is a wonderful host, and we can’t wait to come back!
Had an absolutely wonderful experience staying at Heather’s place in Pāhoa. It is in a unique area , a bit away from tourist hot spots but only 20 min drive from Pahoa. She gave excellent instructions on how to find the house. It’s like another world of rainforest with no light pollution. The house is a lovely tropical ,sustainable cottage style , very well appointed. She had linen sheets that stayed dry despite the environment. Having ability to do laundry an extreme plus! Fruit trees of all kinds on property and Heather even had homemade jam and fruit in a basket for us! Availed ourselves of local farmers market and even went to a nearby country store / yoga and wellness center. Would definitely stay at the Pahoa Tree House again!
No a/c but super spiritual, u need more than 4 people to not scare urselves at night
Unless you plan to hitchhike, a car is a must.
