The house is located in a slightly remote but absolutely gorgeous area south of Hilo. From the many lanai you can see the ocean and hear the waves. Just an amazing location! Note that the house is an indoor-outdoor design ... two of the rooms are more like slightly separate in-law apartments that you get to through via an open-air lanai while the other two are upstairs in the main house. (We almost didn't find the fourth room when we arrived because we weren't expecting it to be separate from the house!) It really suits the area, but if you're not used to it, the design may be a bit unexpected. The house was very well stocked with towels, condiments, plates, utensils, and pretty much anything you could imagine needing (including some very timely aloe vera gel when one of our party forgot to apply sunblock). The caretakers are very responsive via email and even delivered some beach toys for us on the first day. We didn't want to leave!

We loved our stay at Terry's place. The view was amazing. Slept very well listening to the waves smashing the coast, actually you could feel it. Easy walk to the beach. It was a real treat.

This place is Fantastic. Can't say enough good things about it. The location is off the beaten path but close enough to everything to do as much sightseeing as you like. We based out of here and did Volcano National Park, Hilo, Black Sand Beaches and the Green Sand Beach at Southernmost Point. The house was well kept and the Lani was to die for. The ocean crashing against the cliffs by the house made sleeping a joy which sometimes life gets in the way of. Man I wish I was back there. Thank you Terry for all of the suggestions and getting us in a day early, Freedom for showing us around the house when we checked in, and Joy for quickly answering any question that I emailed her about. Such great folks. Can't wait to make it back at some point. Mahalo, Lee
