Jane's cottage was cozy, roomy, clean and convenient for all the restaurants and bars at the Quays. It was great to have private parking off a busy road however the station was 15 min walk away and we used it a couple of times to visit Bristol and Cheltenham so hardly used the car during our stay. Don't let the busy road be offputting as the secondary glazing cut out the traffic noise. We had a very pleasant break in the Lock House.

Special location for a quirky and historic property. Warnings about the canal and river very appropriate with winter flood levels. House and contents / accommodation just as described - with everything you need provided. Ideal base for everything Gloucester has to offer within an easy stroll. Sat Nav struggles to get the location, so aim for the historic dock lifting bridge. Car parking requires care with larger vehicles through the gates, would be very tight for 3 vehicles. Stairs are a bit steep - original… but do have a solid rail. Central heating works well to warm the rooms when you arrive back after a day out.

Lock Cottage is perfectly placed to see the sights of Gloucester. Easy walk into the centre or pop over the bridge to walk the dogs off lead.
