Great lodge, very warm and cosy, hot tub was wonderful, the lodge does have an oven which wasn't mentioned in the description but was very handy. Great site in a great location. Overall had a brilliant stay here. One minor thing is that check out information was sent via Airbnb and we didn't receive this until after we'd checked out.
We stayed here for 2 nights and took both our dogs. (Robin). When we arrived we were given a leaflet of the farm map and taken to our lodge. We were shown how to work the hot tub and told if we needed anything to just ask. The lodge was immaculate, cosy but spacious and the hosts were very welcoming and did everything they could to make sure our stay was great. Inside the lodge they had a file with loads of recommendation of walks, site seeing, rules and local taxis, food and information about the area. This was very useful! The farm was not too far from Wigton or Caldbeck for walks and restaurants. Another thing that was great was, we didn’t want to cook one night and asked about local takeaways. Some takeaways did deliver to the farm and they brought it right to our door! The farm was very peaceful and is in a great location. We will definitely be coming back! We loved our stay and will be recommending it to family and friends!
Myself, two dogs and my husband stayed in Robyn's lodge for 5 days it was absolutely perfect. All staff here were lovely and very helpful. We were in the middle of nowhere so if it's peace and quiet you want then this is ideal! Our first walk we did was to the Oddfellows pub which took us an hour and twenty minutes but when we got there it was closed, I called Wallace farm for some taxi numbers but the owner told us he would pick us up which we were ever so grateful for as we were all freezing cold, what a lovely man he was too! The second walk we did was around the waterfalls, we drove to it as it was about 40 minutes drive there and then a good hour and half to walk around, the scenery was out of this world and looked even better as parts were frozen and had icycles hanging by the waterfall. The third walk we did was the old railway track, it took us around 35 minutes to drive there and then a good two hours walk we walked 5km there and 5 back so 10km it was a good walk!
Lovely location and lodge with hot tub and fireplace - kitchen and bathroom had everything we needed!
