Never having been to the Yorkshire Dales we were hugely pleased with the location. The village is really pretty and has a pub serving food and a cafe, plus lots of walks (although also lots of sheep if you have a dog!!). The cottage is small but big enough. The views are fabulous from the little terrace and all of the rooms! The cottage was well equipped although a few extras like a hairdryer, bin liners and kitchen roll would have been good. The welcome Yorkshire teabags and local biscuits were a pleasant surprise. Parking can be an issue but we managed to get a space in front of the cottage most days. Our two biggest gripes were the shower, which needs either a very good clean up or replacing (lots of black mould and the shower head blocked with scum), and the cottage was dirty. There were huge, long-standing cobwebs (with spiders), thick dust on skirtings, thick grime on window frames etc. In addition, the inside of the fridge was unclean. With a good clean it would be fab
Fantastic little cottage with stunning views. Comfortable and homely.
The cottage was amazing with lovely views from a majority of the windows. Our visit was in February 2023 and the cottage was toastie. Bessie, our Border Collie, loved the walks from the tea shop in Muker to Keld, from Gunnerside to Low Row and Keld up Swale Dale to Wain Wath falls. Would definitely go back again to explore more of the area.

Beautiful cosy cottage with outstanding views of Swaledale. This is a stunning area - my favourite of all the dales. Easy to find, clear directions and lots of attention to detail in the house. Very clean and extremely welcoming! Only issue was the allocated parking space was taken up by another vehicle. We’ve got a small car so it wasn’t a big issue. Had a fabulous time and can highly recommend it!
