New wifi summer 2023!!! The Lazy M is nestled in the majestic mountain terrain of Gallatin National Forest and is just twelve miles from Gardiner, a year round gateway to Yellowstone National Park. The Lazy M is the ideal distance to be able to enjoy Yellowstone but be able to get away from the crowds. From The Lazy M, Yellowstone is a scenic 20-25 minute drive. Horseback riding, natural hot springs, fly fishing, wolf watching, rafting, hiking, museums and gourmet dining are within 30 minutes. The cabin is adjacent to Cinnabar Creek, which is great for small trout fishing, and has a magnificent porch with Adirondack chairs to enjoy the beautiful mountain view. If you want to just sit back and relax you can spend hours sitting on the porch next to the creek drinking coffee or wine while reading one of our many books or just enjoying the peaceful environment. Watch deer, elk, and big horn sheep in the meadow out the front door, along the creek or on the nearby bluffs. Bears have also been seen from the porch and along the road. If you are really lucky you may even see a mountain lion. During the evening hours make sure to keep an ear open for howling wolves. There is a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, pull out sleeper sofa in main cabin and a Tulikivi Fireplace. We have just upgraded to Starlink Wifi! (May 2023). So it should be much more reliable but it is still satellite so there may be interferences outside of our control. If you need to be connected to the internet for your entire trip this is not the place for you. The cabin will sleep 4, plus one small child on a small mattress on the floor. There is a 3/4 bath. No sink in the bathroom. This is a mountain cabin in the heart of Montana’s wilderness. While it has most of the amenities of home, it is still a rustic cabin. We have books, travel guides and games in the cabin. There is no TV or phone in the cabin. You will also not get reliable cell service at the cabin (there is also not cell service in most locations inside of Yellowstone National Park). The cabin is NOT handicap accessible. We have a small cabin we use on the weekends. We like to say hello and welcome guests but otherwise we let you enjoy your time away from it all.
