We stayed for a short weekend break and thoroughly enjoyed the relaxing area. The lodge is very cosy and warm. We enjoyed a boat trip and spent time in the hot tub. The wood burner was very easy to use and kept us warm on the nights. However on the entrance drive towards the lodges there is a rather steep, and unnecessary speed bump which scratched our car as it is a low sports car. This was really upsetting to be the first thing upon arrival. It would also be nice to have some small lights, even solar powered, along the driveway as there are stones placed along the sides and it’s difficult to see clearly when dark. The check out instructions were given on the same day of checkout, with some rather specific instructions which we hadn’t seen before at any hotel or airbnb, such as removing the bedding and using some specific bags for towels. Although we did it, the checkout was made more difficult as we woke up and had a list of things to do. Overall really nice stay and would recommend

The setting was lovely and peaceful. The house was spacious and well catered for. The downside for us was that although we took our paddle boards but we’re unable to use them as the lake is very thick with weeds and green algae. Our dog fell into the lake and came out covered in green algae.
