We had wonderful stay! The views were beautiful and we loved looking at the stars at night. Close to restaurants and big bend.
Both of us work & have a large family - so - the opportunity to get away and "unplug" was one of the key considerations in booking Daryl's place and - it did not disappoint. So quiet and remote - very peaceful. We, also, enjoyed watching the eclipse without all the crowds we saw. We like to stay in unique places - yurt, tiny home, tepee, etc. and wanted to check out a cargo container converted to living quarters. Very nice - reminded us a lot of the tiny home we rented in Kanab, Utah several years ago - except - the two large king beds were enormous in comparison to the tiny house. One thing of note - and Daryl clearly states this on his description - the place is remote and the drive is NOT for someone with a vehicle that has low clearance. But - IF you're looking for something unique, out of the way and so very peacefully quiet - this is what you're looking for. If we're back in the area again, we'll definitely consider Daryl's place. BTW - there are 5 such cargo-converted.
Perfect for our trip to Big Bend! We had amazing views up on the ridge. Patio was great for sunsets and stargazing. You’ll definitely want a high clearance vehicle as the path up from Terlingua is quite rocky. Airbnb had everything we needed, two AC splits units and ceiling fans kept us cool, and super comfortable beds. Highly recommend!!
Great place!
This was my second stay at Fossil Knob, but first time renting 248 house. My buddy and I had a great experience. We both were blown away with the view through the gigantic windows of the sunset and sunrise. The house was clean and well equipped. We had everything we needed. The host messaged us at check in and close to check out and was very courteous. He gave us permission to check in earlier than the 4:00pm time if we arrived sooner, which was helpful. No complaints and would/will definitely stay again at Fossil Knob.
