Randsburg is a Historic Mining and Living Ghost Town. The evenings are very quiet and it is one of the best places in California to enjoy the stars. The meteor showers can feel like your own personal firework shows put on by Mother Nature. This is contrasted during the weekends when the town comes alive with tourists and off-road enthusiasts.

Our annual “Old West Days” celebration is the third Saturday of every September. It is a fun way to spend the day with family and friends. Our main street of Butte Avenue is blocked and filled with street Vendors, Artists, and a Classic Car Show. Rest on a bale of hay and listen to the bands, watch the old west street fight reenactment and maybe some square dancing.

Typically, the merchants are only open limited days and hours and most holidays.
The Randsburg General Store is a Restaurant open for breakfast and lunch with an old time ice cream and soda fountain dating back to 1904. Hours of operation are typically Friday through Sunday from 9:00am – 5:00 pm. They may be willing to serve you on off days/hours if you call them prior to your arrival.
The Joint is a family owned and operated full service bar dating back to 1955. Hours of operation are generally Thursday through Sunday 11:00 am – 2:00 am.
The Rand Desert Museum is open most weekends from 11am-3pm. The Museum is a must stop for the history buff. Be prepared to be transformed back to Randsburg’s humble beginning with a plethora of information, pictures and, artifacts.
The closest grocery store is 22 miles away in Ridgecrest, CA so please plan for food and incidentals accordingly.

There is no need for public transportation in the small town of Randsburg. You can easily stroll from one end of town to the other and visit some of the small shops or stop and chat with the town folk or other visitors.
