Excellent location, right on the South Downs Way. Pauline was very friendly and flexible. The cabin is basic but had everything we needed for our trip including a continental style breakfast in the fridge. We stayed on a cold October night so had to layer up (to be expected in a wooden cabin). There is an electric heater and spare blankets. We had a lovely evening meal in the village pub. There is a bus that takes you right back up to the South Downs Way if you don't fancy going back up the steep lane in the dark!

Pauline is a great host and the Hare Lodge a great find for those needing a comfy bed after a day on the trail. We stayed having cycled 38 miles, so we were a bit late and Pauline was a great host and greeted us, showed us round and gave some welcome information on getting fed at the local, which is a short walk down the track. She also provided us with sandwiches for the next days ride. The lodge has all the amenities you need with a separate shower/toilet block just for your use. Perfect country retreat.
