Die Unterkunft braucht dringend Wartung und Reparaturen in allen Bereichen, sowie Investitionen! Man fragt sich, warum in dieser sonnenreichen Gegend Wasser immer noch mit Feuerholz und Strom mit teurem Generatorstrom erzeugt wird statt mit Solarpower Das Personal ist sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und Service-orientiert! Die warmen Mahlzeiten von Koch Herbert sind klasse! Dem Manager hingegen kommt es offenbar in erster Linie auf Gewinnmaximierung an, weniger auf die Zufriedenheit der Gäste. Er kauft nur billigste Produkte (z.B. Klopapier, Marmelade...) oder aber gar nicht (Butter, Marmelade, Kaffee...). Butter mussten wir selbst kaufen, Kaffee wurde nur sehr spärlich angeboten, Wurst und Käse überhaupt nicht, also besser gleich selbst mitbringen. Verbrauchte Vorräte wurden zum Ende unseres 3-wöchigen Aufenthalts nicht mehr ersetzt.

Great place to stay, the whole island was just for my group and the staff were so helpful. Our drive from Kigali took a lot longer than expected but the staff were ready and picked us up with the boat and had dinner ready for when we arrived. They coordinated our whole Saturday with boat ride, zip lining, found a great place for us to eat and ensured we had a great time. I would highly recommend this to others!

Very pleasant stay, breathtaking surroundings, very friendly and helpful staff! But don't come in rain time. For Europeans too cold and wet.

Bright Island was incredible. We enjoyed the boat ride with Brian. Simon made sure everything was perfect. The food and hospitality was excellent. They also brought in a local group that sang and danced for us.

Myself and 11 friends stayed at Bright Island for 3 nights over the Easter weekend and had an amazing time. Simon and Brian were great hosts who were very communicative, attentive to our needs and were helpful in suggesting and organizing activities for us. For a big group, the island has a great mix of being private with the 5 separate bandas with lake views and having a common area with fireplace, bar, dining table and space to play games and socialize. We were worried about power, but never had a problem as there was always lights and access to charging. It can get cold at night, so be sure to pack some warmer clothes. We will be back!
