Voala Heights Haven is across the road from a Convenience store, and a bus or taxi may be hailed outside the premises. Up the road are 2 churches within walking distance. Town is 15 minutes by car, but some prefer to walk the half hour. Two minutes down the road is Minahs, our local grocery store, petrol station and beauty salon. Just below them is Samus takeaway, Robert Louis Stevensons Museum, the Carmelites Sisters and church, Le Manumea Resort, across from other takeaways and eat in restaurants. Further down the road again you will find our vegan eatery Krush, across from Sherees Salon and Giordanos Pizza. At the end of that side road is the National Hospital and Marias Pharmacy. Continuing on the Cross Island Road however will take you onto Beach Road in town, with the Sheraton Hotel and Wharf on your right, and the CBD and Police Station on your left.

Samoa is bigger than visitors usually expect, so a vehicle of some sort is preferred to walking in the rain or sun, so that most of the island can be seen in the few days of your holiday. Australian and New Zealand road rules apply. An island map will be made available. A popular hike among locals and tourists alike is the climb up Mt Vaea where Robert Louis Stevenson is buried. The turn off to the track is right beside his old house. If a quiet day snorkeling is more your thing, then Palolo Deep beside the Wharf is the place for you.
